Three-time NCAA Champion Ed Ruth put together an incredible wrestling resume before transitioning to MMA (He is currently 2-0 for Bellator). It seems we should get used to having a Ruth around with wrestling success.  Ed Ruth's younger brother Edmond just won NHSCA's sophomore division at 160 pounds.  

The PA native just won a state title for Susquehanna Township at 152 pounds in March.  A few weeks later, the brother of "The Truth" is an NHSCA champ.

There are some similarities and some differences in their styles.  Ruth showed in round 1, he knows a thing or two about a cross face cradle, big brother's signature move.  What Edmond utilizes that you rarely saw from Ed are the use of underhooks.  Edmond likes to work with both a single underhook as well as double unders.  Brothers having success in wrestling is nothing new.  The Smith's, Sanderson's, Stieber's and more have all shown that siblings can share similar success.

 While comparing Edmond to Ed at this point is unfair, it is worth noting that Ed never won a PIAA title.  Of course, Ed transferred to powerhouse prep program Blair Academy in New Jersey for his senior season. 

During Edmond's run to an NHSCA title, his results varied from blow outs to come from behind squeakers, culminating with an buzzer beating final takedown in the Sophomore division finals.  Ruth won three matches by a combined four points, including a 7-6 win in ultimate tiebreakers in round 2!
