Aaron Pico's First MMA Fight Reportedly On June 24th
It appears Aaron Pico's time on the mat may be coming to an end. Several media outlets are reporting that Bellator president Scott Coker has put Pico on the Bellator 180 card, currently slated for June 24th in New York. Pico's professional cage debut will be at Madison Square Garden just two weeks after the men's freestyle world team trials in Lincoln, Nebraska. With the two events being so close, it seems unlikely he will participate in this year's tournament. The 20-year-old will be on the undercard of a fight featuring another former wrestler in Chael Sonnen vs Wanderlei Silva. A former cadet world champ, two-time junior world medalist and Olympic Trials finalist, Pico will compete at 155 pounds against an opponent still to be determined. At this time, it seems the ACL injury Pico suffered is behind him and he will be at full health for the fight.

This interview was posted in June of last year after Bellator 157 and features Pico discussing his future in wrestling.
