With the 2017 NCAA brackets released, we've identified the top round 1 match ups.

125 - #4 Darian Cruz, Lehigh vs Dylan Peters, UNI - Sometimes a two-time All American draws the 4 seed in round 1. Peters is not a fun draw.

125 - Barlow McGhee, Missouri vs Gabe Townsell, Stanford - Easily the juiciest pigtail of all the weights. McGhee was such a rock last year, I'm still wondering what is going on with him and if he'll rebound come NCAA time.

125 - #11 Josh Terao, American vs Jose Rodriguez, Ohio State - Jose had a major slump post CKLV but seems to be rounding into form. In addition to this match having upset potential, I could see this being especially entertaining.

125 - Conor Youtsey, Michigan vs #15 Drew Templeman, Wyoming - The magical Conor Youtsey is back and is earning huge wins. Sleep on him at your own peril!

133 - #4 Cory Clark, Iowa vs Connor Schram, Stanford - Two returning AA's in round one. 'Nuf said.

133 - #3 Kaid Brock, Ok State vs Scott Delvecchio, Rutgers - Delvecchio has had flashes and shown the ability to beat good wrestlers before. While he's a massive underdog here, this match will likely be numerically close.

141 - #1 Dean Heil, Ok State vs Brock Zacherl, Clarion - Nobody's beating Dean Heil in my opinion, but Zacherl is a real talent.

174 - #4 Zach Epperly, Virginia Tech vs Nick Reenan, NC State - Reenan made this one incredibly interesting in the dual.

174 - #5 Mark Hall, PSU vs David Kocer, SDSU - Kocer has fallen off recently, but he's knocked off the likes of Kyle Crutchmer and Lelund Weatherspoon. This is not your typical round one match.

174 - #6 Ryan Preisch, Lehigh vs Jordan Pagano, Rutgers - Pagano beat Preisch like, a few weeks ago. So that's sub-optimal for Preisch.

The deep dives into the brackets have only just begun.  Stay tuned to FloWrestling for all the NCAA wrestling analysis you need!
