The Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association Championships had its own Ian Miller situation in Oklahoma City on Friday night. The wrong wrestler's hand was raised in the semifinal between Koral Sugiyama of Campbellsville and Nicole Depa of Simon Fraser. Depa should have won 8-8 on criteria, because she had a pair of two-point moves and Sugiyama only had one. The Simon Fraser coaches protested, and it was decided they would re-wrestle the second period.

Why did they re-wrestle the second period instead of awarding Depa the win when neither girl wrestled another match Friday night? Because Campbellsville was not able to challenge the final exchange in the initial match. Had the Tigers coaches known they were in fact behind on criteria, they could have challenged Sugiyama's last-second headlock.

So, the second period was re-wrestled on Saturday morning, and check out for yourself who won below.
