Time Machine Dual Meet - 2005 Oklahoma St vs 2012 Penn State

What if we put the 2005 Oklahoma State Cowboys and the 2012 Penn State Nittany Lions in a time machine and made them wrestle a dual meet. Who would win?

125: Coleman Scott, Oklahoma State (8th) vs Nico Megaludis (2nd), Penn State

Right off the bat we have an intriguing match up between both were true freshmen, but Megs was a little bit more equipped to handle the future Olympic medalist when he was a frosh.

133: Nate Morgan, Oklahoma State (DNP) vs Frank Martellotti (DNP), Penn State

This would definitely be one of the bigger swing bouts, I remember Nate Morgan being really difficult to score one and having a trick or two up his sleeve, I think he edges Martellotti by the slightest of margins.

141: Daniel Frishkorn (4th), Oklahoma State vs Byan Pearsall (DNQ), Penn State

Considering the this is the one starter from the PSU squad that did not qualify for NCAAs this is a match that you would see bonus points from the Cowboys.

149: Zach Esposito (1st), Oklahoma State vs Frank Molinaro (1st), Penn State

One thing that you have to keep in mind is that the 2016 version of Molinaro is very different then the 2012 version, Frank grew leaps and bounds as an athlete on the road to Rio, I think Espo's high powered offense, and inside trip in particular are good enough for a win at this weight.

157: Kevin Ward (DNP), Oklahoma State vs Dylan Alton (3rd), Penn State

On paper this one looks like bonus for the Lions, but don't forget that the third place finish by Alton in '12 was a bit of an outlier performance. This would be the mostly place to insert an upset.

165: Johny Hendricks (1st), Oklahoma State vs David Taylor (1st), Penn State

David Taylor was an absolute bear to deal with in ever position this year. Hendricks had a few losses. Taking Taylor would be the safe bet, but does he get bonus points? Yeah, probably.

174: Chris Pendleton (1st), Oklahoma State vs Ed Ruth (1st), Penn State

Bonus points was a huge reason this Penn State team was so successful, and Ed Ruth was a big part of that reason, Ruth could get bonus points on just about anyone, even NCAA champions like Chris Pendleton.

184: Rusty Blackman (DNQ), Oklahoma State vs Quentin Wright (2nd)

Im going to be conservative and say that Quentin Wright is putting up a ton of points on an OSU starter that was told not to get pinned against the NCAA finalist.

197: Jake Rosholt (1st), Oklahoma State vs Morgan McIntosh (DNP), Penn State

This is where the bleeding stops for the Cowboys. Most people think of Morgan McIntosh as the stud that he became, but remember he had a rough go of it his freshman and some of his sophomore year, Jake Rosholt had already established himself as a national champion and would go to win his second of three in March of 2005.

285: Steve Mocco (1st), Oklahoma State vs Cameron Wade (DNP), Penn State

Steve Mocco was truly one of the scariest men in NCAA history. Something tells me with the match on the line he would leave no doubt in anyone's mind that he was the ace in the hole that the Cowboys need to pull this one out.
