UDATE: In light of the latest news of Iowa State head coach Kevin Jackson stepping down after this season, Downey's twitter fingers have given us another nugget to ponder as he tweeted the following:
Along with the news about Jackson, came an announcements from Class of 2017 Cyclone recruit Austin Gomez who took to Twitter as well stating that he has asked Iowa State for a release. Downey replied with a tweet of agreement:
Could all of this mean that Downey is on the move after this season as well?

Iowa State wrestler Pat Downey is easily one of the most interesting follows on Twitter, at least in the world of wrestling.

Whether he's calling Bo Nickal and TJ Dudley Bums...

Or explaining how he was going to pin Nolan Boyd because he was better at wrestling than him.

Downey ultimately didn't wrestle this match, but the message was still sent loud and clear.

On Monday, Downey took to Twitter to inform two-time NCAA champion Gabe Dean that he, not Dean, would be winning NCAAs this year.

Calling out wrestlers is nothing new for Downey. Last May, he proclaimed he was coming for three-time world and Olympic champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev.

Though Downey has only wrestled four matches this season, calling him out on Twitter does not phase him.

Interestingly, Downey told Dan Lobdell this fall that "Tweeting and talking only get you so far."
