Before the 2016 Walsh Jesuit Ironman started, plenty of commentators had Spencer Lee pegged as the one wrestler who would bonus his way through the tournament.

However, they were wrong. While Lee put on dominant performances all weekend long until he was standing firmly on top of the podium, it was fellow Pennsylvania stud Sammy Sasso of Nazareth who collected five straight bonus point wins to earn the title and the tournament's Ray Mendoza Award for scoring the most points.

After a pin in his first bout, Sasso went on to record major decisions over his next three opponents to make the finals, where he finished things off with a fall.
