nullJaws hit the floor when the pre-seeds for the 2016 Walsh Ironman were released.

All told, there are seven nationally ranked competitors at this weight, including two #1 ranked wrestlers (Spencer Lee and Jordan Decatur). Additionally, Ironman is notorious for having breakout performers where unranked up and comers down established ranked wrestlers.

The Contenders:

#1 Spencer Lee, Franklin Regional: It'll be easier to list off the events Spencer hasn't won, than to rattle off all the titles. All told, the three-time PA state champion has won Ironman, Super 32, Powerade, Cadet Worlds and Junior Worlds (twice). There's no escaping Spencer on the mat, no position of vulnerability. He attacks frequently and finishes at an incredibly high percentage on his feet. On top he is a ferocious turner and pinner. This is the deepest weight, yet many believe he could bonus throughout this tournament.

#1 Jordan Decatur, CVCA: The top-ranked Ohio State commit has won Fargo on two occasions and downed Spencer's close friend and training partner, Gavin Teasdale at Who's #1. Decatur will make his money on his feet where he has a variety of attacks he can use in addition to some great short-offense off of opponents attacks.

#5 Joey Silva, Lake Highland Prep: We've watched Joey flip the switch in matches for awhile now. He's now a two-time Super 32 champion and appears to be wrestling at his absolute best. The Florida-native will be among the strongest and most physical at this weight. Silva uses his pace as a weapon as well as anyone at this weight. We watched him at Super 32, find 30-45 seconds where he would ramp his pace up to a 10, and guys would simply melt.
