Close to the pin, but can't put him away as the 2nd comes to an end. 7-0 Suriano after two!

3rd Period: Cruz takes neutral. Shot by Cruz with 40 to go but not deep enough. Suriano pressing for the major but Cruz making matters difficult. Shot Suriano, front headlock fro Cruz, he was considering a mixer, but couldn't get in position. 8 to go and that's it. What a start for Suriano. 7-0 win.

Penn State: 3
Lehigh: 0

133: No. 9 Jered Cortez vs No. 17 Scott Parker
1st Period:
Environment looks sick at BJC, by the way. Underway now. Shot by Cortez and a great go-behind for Scott Parker! 2-0 and he's working a spiral ride. 27 seconds of riding time as they go out of bounds and there's 2:12 to go in the 1st. Escape for Cortez comes with 2 minutes to go and there's 38 seconds of riding time for Parker. Another shot by Cortez but a great job by Parker throwing it by and getting another takedown! Half nelson straight over the top for 2 nearfall! What a start for Scott Parker. 6-1 after 1.

2nd Period: Parker chooses bottom and escapes. 7-1 now, 55 seconds of rt for Parker. Parker looking very physical. After two counter TD's Cortez is in a pickle. 16 to go. Period ends.

3rd Period: Cortez takes bottom and escapes and it's 7-2. RT at 1:13 for Parker. Sweep single for Parker and it's 9-2! Fantastic performance by the Sophomore. 9-3 after the escape. Boot scoot attempt to the ankle pick by Parker! 11-3 with riding time locked! Major decision territory. Cortez squares up and escapes as time runs out and it's a 12-4 major for Parker!

Lehigh: 4
Penn State: 3

141: No. 20 Jimmy Gulibon vs No. 3 Randy Cruz
1st Period:
Under way here and it's a left side high crotch by Jimmy but Cruz sits the corner. Gulibon trying to come out the back door and it's looking like a stalemate as they're ankle to ankle. Stalemate. Another left side high crotch but Cruz slips his shoulder. Another stalemate with 44 to go. 1st period comes to an end scoreless.

2nd Period: Cruz takes bottom in this PIAA state finals rematch. Jimmy with 34 seconds of riding time and climbing. Stalemate , and on the restart it's an elevator from Cruz and he gets the reversal! Nearly scoring nearfall! Legs in for Cruz and he's going to ride this one out. 16 seconds of riding time as the 2nd ends for Cruz.

3rd Period: Gulibon goes neutral. Shot by Gulibon and he's in a front headlock that is ultimately stalemated. 1 minute remaining. High crotch Gulibon, but Cruz is able to counter and hang on as time expires. 2-0 win for Randy Cruz!

Lehigh: 7
Penn State: 3

149: No. 1 Zain Retherford vs No. 11 Laike Gardner
1st Period:
Single leg for Zain off his 2 on 1 and he's working for the finish. There it is. 2-0 Zain. 1:54 remaining in the 1st as we go to the restart. Leg comes in for Retherford. Sit out and stand up for Gardner and he escapes to make it 2-1. Another takedown for Retherford and he's up 4-1. Shot countered to a drag go-behind. Legs come in and he's getting swipes off his power half.

2nd Period: Retherford chooses bottom. There's the escape and it's 9-1 for Retherford now another leg attack and finish and it's 11-1. Back to work on top with a bottom leg turk and it's 15-1 with a set of swipes but uninterested in the points, Zain gets the pinfall! PSU back in the lead.

Penn State: 9
Lehigh: 7

157: No. 1 Jason Nolf vs Kent Lane
1st Period:
Kutler out with the flu. That's unfortunate for Kent Lane. Under way as there's a double right away from Nolf but Lane rolls out of it. Re-attack by Nolf and he gets to rear standing for the takedown. Scrambling around. Nolf lets him up and it's 2-1. Nolf fires off several attacks and gets another takedown. 4-2 and now 6-2. Nolf again, scoring way faster than i can type and now it's 8-3 after another leg attack takedown. Some more catch and release and it's 10-5. Single leg by Nolf but not a lot of time to finish. 10-5 after 1.

2nd Period: Nolf takes bottom and Lane throws in legs but he's high. Nolf tosses him off for the escape. High crotch and there's two more. 13-6 now, I think. Another attack and now it's 16-6, nearside cradle earns two more. 18-6, now 18-7. 20-7 after another takedown for Nolf.

3rd Period: Lane takes neutral. Shot by Nolf off a high crotch and it's 22-8. He gives the escape and it's 22-9. A takedown will end it. Shot, front headlock and he basically had the takedown but I think he wants to go for nearfall. Nolf was behind for a moment and ran the other way so he wouldn't get the tech, I'm serious. 25-9 for the tech.

INTERMISSION SCORE:
Penn State: 14
Lehigh: 7

165: No. 10 Vincenzo Joseph vs Drew Longo
1st Period:
Back underway here and a shot literally in the first second of the match by Vincenzo and he's trying to finish this single leg. Finish out the back door for Cenzo and it's 2-0. He looks for a tilt and he cant get it, so Longo escapes. Another shot to Longo's right leg. Up to his feet, there's the trip for two more. 4-1. Escape now makes it 4-2. 1:08 to go and Vincenzo takes another shot, well defended this time by Longo. Nice snap by Longo but he can't convert. 20 to go. Shot by Longo as time expires but no finish.

2nd Period: Longo takes bottom and escapes an it's now 4-3 in favor of Joseph. Double leg by Vincenzo and he finishes to make it 6-3. Immediate escape makes it 6-4. Talk about a misleading score. Another double leg and now it's 8-4. Riding time over a minute now. Another escape and it's 8-5 after 1.

3rd Period: Vincenzo takes bottom and escape to make it 9-5. 1:14 to go. Single leg for Vincenzo but he gets extended and can't finish. Another shot by Vincenzo. Time runs out and it's a 9-5 final.

Penn State: 17
Lehigh: 7

174: Shakur Rasheed vs No. 16 Ryan Preisch
1st Period:
Rasheed getting the nod here against Preisch. Shot right away from Rasheed and he's working for the finish but Preisch doesn't give anything up easy. There's the finish, however and Rasheed takes a 2-0 lead. Already 39 seconds of riding time for Rasheed. Escape for Preisch and now it's 2-1 but Rasheed finds his way to a single again and gets a finish. That was close and I think Lehigh will challenge. Probably a smart one. Takedown taken off the board and it's 2-1. Shot by Rasheed and Preisch nearly gets the re-attack but Rasheed squares up. Same situation again, Rasheed needs to be careful with his attacks as he is leaving himself a bit vulnerable. Period ends 2-1 Rasheed.

2nd Period: Escape by Rasheed right away and he extends his lead to 3-1. Fantastic high crotch by Preisch and he finishes quick to tie it 3-3. Half on the right side and he rides out.

3rd Period: Preisch will have choice and he's away for the escape and he now leads 4-3. Shot by Rasheed and we're scrambling with 55 to go. Stalemated with 41. Rasheed needs a td. Another shot by Preisch. Shot no set up by Rasheed just 10 to go and it's going to be a 6-3 win for Preisch after Rasheed looks for a headlock. Great win for Preisch! 4-3 final.

Lehigh: 10

184: No. 3 Bo Nickal vs Kyle Gentile
1st Period:
Really nice leg attack right away from Gentile and we are scrambling. Bo dives over the top. Very interesting counter and it's 2-0 Bo. 2:12 remaining. Escape given, left side high crotch by Bo and he's up 4-1 now 4-2. 54 to go. Pancake by Bo! He's got Gentile in BIG trouble and there's the pin!

Penn State: 23
Lehigh: 10

197: No. 7 Matt McCutcheon vs Ben Haas
1st Period:
Underway here and some hard head taps already. Prolonged scramble off of McCutcheon's attack and McCutcheon comes out on top for the takedown and he leads 2-2 after the escape. Period ends.

2nd Period:
McCutcheon chooses bottom. He escapes to make it 3-2, riding time at 30 for Haas. Takedown for McCutcheon as time expires! 5-2 after 2.

3rd Period:
McCutcheon with a breakdown and looking for a bar. Bar/half now and he's getting a count. Big trouble for Haas but he gets out! 9-2 for McCutcheon now with riding time approaching one minute. McCutcheon rides out for the major decision.

Penn State: 27
Lehigh: 10

285: No. 8 Nick Nevills vs No. 12 Doug Vollaro
1st Period:
We're underway here. Size disparity here so Nevills will need to be calculated with his attacks. No attacks at this point.  22 to go.  Period ends.

2nd Period: Vollaro chooses bottom.  Nice return by Nevills. Riding time at 30 seconds.  Nevills is a pill on top.  Another stand up by Vollaro but Nevills returns him again and riding time goes over a minute. Rideout for Nevills.  He'll take two minutes of riding time into the third.  Still scoreless.

3rd Period: Nevills takes bottom.  There's the escape and it's 1-0, but riding time is at 1:48, snatch single by Nevills and now it's 3-0! He lets Nevills up and he gets the finish plus swipes!  7-1 and he's letting him up and will work for the major.  Counter td for Vollaro and it's a win for Nevills!

Final Score:
Penn State: 30
Lehigh: 10
