Two time world medalist, Andy Bisek, will be the new assistant coach at Northern Michigan University. Northern Michigan’s wrestling program focuses solely on Greco and has been the US national team’s feeder program since its inception in 1999. Bisek a 2014 and 2015 bronze medalist at what is widely considered the toughest weight class in the world will be filling the assistant’s role vacated by world champion and long time coach, Aghasi Manukyan.

While the senior level greco athletes didn’t have their best showing in Rio this passed August head coach Matt Lindland has made tremendous strides forward in the way of developing younger wrestlers and getting them ready to compete on a world stage. The recent hire of Bisek at NMU only strengthens the ideas that Coach Lindland has a grand plan for USA Greco. “It’s more than just having a two time medalist as a coach.” Says Lindland about Bisek at NMU. “He’s a true leader and the representative of greco USA Greco.”
