There has been a lot of buzz surrounding Vince Turk since he got on campus at Iowa over a year ago. The Montini Catholic (Illinois) product and redshirt freshman entered this season poised to man the 141 spot for the Hawkeyes, but those plans now appear to be on hold.

A spokesperson from the Iowa athletic department has confirmed that Turk suffered an injury that will likely end his season. Senior Topher Carton is expected to be the Hawkeyes' starter this season in light of Turk's absence.

Carton has been hit or miss for the Hawkeyes over the years but had a solid showing a year ago, knocking off No. 14 Colton McCrystal, Brock Ervin, and Turk.

Iowa is currently ranked second in the ASICS FloRankings and is set to begin its season Friday at the Iowa City Duals. True freshman Alex Marinelli will be competing at the Lindenwood Open (Live on FloWrestling).
