Zeke Moisey To Redshirt, Dylan Cottrell Moving Up
Moisey took the college wrestling scene by storm two years ago when he rolled his way through Nahshon Garrett, Eddie Klimara, and Thomas Gilman to make the NCAA finals. Moisey's sophomore campaign came to an end late in the season after he suffered a brutal elbow injury.
Zeke Moisey stuns Thomas Gilman:
"With a solid lineup at the lower weights, including senior Cory Stainbrook and the addition of Mathew Schmitt, we are fortunate enough to redshirt Zeke and give him another year to improve," head coach Sammie Henson said in the schools press release.
Since his freshman season at Appalachian State, Cottrell has been a mainstay in the national rankings. A year ago, Cottrell narrowly missed All-American honors after falling in the blood round to Joe Smith of Oklahoma State. Cottrell debuted in the preseason rankings at No. 15 at 157lbs and figures to slot in around the same spot up at 165lbs.
Cottrell takes out Austin Matthews of Edinboro:
"After a full summer of lifting and training, Dylan looks to be a solid 165-pounder," Henson said in the school's release. "We expect him to contend for All-American status."
