It appears the long fight between Minnesota and J Robison is reaching an end. In late May, a story broke that an anonymous wrestler came forward and told authorities about a drug ring at Minnesota.

According to twincities.com, J Robinson's agent, James C.W Bock believes the University of Minnesota is attempting to make legendary head coach J Robinson a scapegoat for Minnesota's drug issues.

"From the inside, it looks to me as though the university, for some reason, wants to blame Coach Robinson for internal athletic department, and probably larger, failures," James C.W. Bock, Robinson's agent, told WCCO Radio.

J has been on administrative leave for over two months amid allegations that he offered amnesty to athletes who were selling Xanax.

Robinson, 69, is on paid leave pending the results of a school investigation into the way he handled allegations that some of his wrestlers were taking and selling the anti-anxiety drug Xanax.

The two sides had been negotiating, but these have broken down of late. Minnesota would prefer to fire Coach Robinson and pay him the remainder of his contract.

"The bottom line is, in all candor, we've been negotiating with the University of Minnesota, and if the university wants a scapegoat, then pay (Robinson) his contract and kick him out the door," Bock told WCCO's Mike Max.

On August 1st, Brandon Eggum, J's longtime assistant at Minnesota was named acting head coach.
