After a ridiculously busy weekend in Fargo, Tech Thursday is back! Today, we're bringing you the best of three-time NCAA All-American, Ian Miller. He became a fan favorite with his wide-open attacking style, and electrifying inside trips and boot scoots.
It doesn't just look pretty, though—there is plenty of technique behind the jaw-dropping moves. Now, for the first time, you have the chance to go behind the technique.

Inside Trip
You knew it was coming, and you still couldn't stop it. By the time Miller was a senior, everyone knew he had it, and yet the best in the country struggled to stop it. Miller's beautiful inside trip was on full display in the NCAA semifinals against Isaiah Martinez.Boot Scoot
Just as slick and pretty as his inside trip, Miller's boot scoot was another crowd pleaser that he could hit on just about anyone. This move is all about timing, and feeling your opponent's pressure. Master that, and you'll soon be looking like Miller out on the mat.Misdirection Duck Under
Another slick one from the former Kent State All-American, this move is all about getting your opponent to react. With elbow control step hard one way, and then—boom!—come back the other way with an explosive duck.Elbow Pass Single
"If I'm not comfortable in the tie, then I'm going to clear out of it." One way to clear those ties is with an elbow pass. From that elbow pass, Miller hits a slick sweep single to the opposite side of the body that he is controlling the elbow on.Claw Lift To Pin
Another thing Miller did well in his career was pin people. Miller finished his college career with 36 pins, and a lot of them came from this move right here. Once Miller's opponents stands up, he quickly grabs a claw, and lifts through the crotch, turning his opponent in the air and causing him to land flat on his back.Related Content
