USA Wrestling Freestyle Job Down To Three Candidates
USA Wrestling executive Rich Bender confirmed Saturday in an interview with Takedown Wrestling that the search for the next USA Freestyle coach has been narrowed down to three candidates: Lou Rosselli, Kenny Monday and Bill Zadick.

Rosselli has helmed of one of the most successful regional training centers in the United States, the Ohio RTC. Associate head coach at Ohio State, Rosselli put a number of Ohio RTC members not only on the World and Olympic teams, but also the podium at the World Championships.

Monday, who won the 1988 Olympic gold medal, has had stints coaching at various levels of wrestling. He was on staff at Oklahoma State, where he competed as a three-time All-American, and more recently was the wrestling coach at Blackzilians, a MMA gym.

Zadick joined USA Wrestling as resident coordinator and assistant national freestyle coach in January of 2009. In 2006, he became a world champion at 66kg.  He was also a two-time All-American for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

A notable omission from this list is Terry Brands, who was long-rumored as a potential candidate. It has not been confirmed whether Brands was interested in the position or not.

Clearly, Team USA has strong candidates and options for the future. The decision is expected to be made by the World Cup in June.
