Oregon State University assistant wrestling coach Troy Steiner has officially been named the head wrestling coach at Fresno State. FSU began the process of reinstating their wrestling program months ago and have now made an even bigger step with naming Steiner their head coach.  Steiner comes to Fresno State from Oregon State where he has been since April 2006, moving from Iowa when then-Hawkeyes coach Jim Zalesky was hired by the Beavers. He was promoted to associate head coach entering the 2012-13 season, and also coached at Wisconsin and Minnesota after an All-America career at Iowa – where he won three Big Ten titles while compiling a 148-13 record at 134 and 142 pounds.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to competition during the 2017-18 school year.
