FloWrestler of the Week: Obe Blanc, TMWC
It was his last chance, and he made the most of it.

Obe Blanc was the No. 8 seed at the Last Chance Qualifier, but that didn't stop him from fighting his way through the bracket to claim the final spot for the U.S. Olympic Trials. Blanc picked up a ton of steam from match to match, which culminated in an 11-0 technical fall over Dan Mitcheff in the finals. But his biggest win of the day came in the quarterfinals, when he pinned Stevan Micic in 3:53 after trailing early.

He kept things rolling when he defeated Frank Perrelli 9-3 in the semifinals before claiming the finals over Mitcheff.

Blanc put together a great strings of wins and was the highest-seeded wrestler to claim a qualifying spot. For his great performance, he is our FloWrestler of the Week.

Other FloWrestler of the Week Nominees:

Drew Hughes, IN: Steamroller alert! Hughes demolished the Folkstyle Nationals field by winning every match by bonus points, including falls in the semis and finals to win the 170-pound title.

Jason Kraisser, MD: Five first period falls -- that’s what it took for him to win the 132-pound freshman national title.

Daniel Bullard, GA: Became a three-time National High School Coaches Association champ when he defeated Elijah Cleary 3-2 in the senior division finals. Bullard recorded three pins and a tech fall on the way to his title.

Tanner Litterell, OK: 7-0 -- that was Litterell’s final record at the end of the day as he took home the 132-pound title and OW award.

BJ Futrell, CKWC: He wasn't playing around at the Last Chance Qualifier. He recorded three tech falls, a 10-second pin over Matt Kolodzik and an 8-2 decision in the finals to qualify for the Trials.
