NCAA Championship odd for each weight class. Who is the odds on favorite at each weight? Where does the field have the best chance of producing a champion? Snyder or Gwiz?

125lbs
Nathan Tomasello +145
Nico Megaludis +195
Field +165

Commentary: Tomasello is the odds favorite, but just slightly over the field that contains so many talented wrestlers with the depth at 125lbs. You get both Gilman and Dance with the field bet, that is tough to pass up.

133lbs
Nahshon Garrett -125
Cody Brewer +200
Field +150

Commentary: If the Kaid Brock match didn’t happen, Cody Brewer would be on the opposite side of the bracket of Nahshon Garrett and many would be looking forward to a rematch. The match did happen, and Brewer fell to the four seed with the second defeat on his resume. The field odds loses some value because the field is guaranteed to have a finalist wrestling on Saturday night.

141lbs
Dean Heil +200
Joey McKenna +175
Field +150

Commentary: The #1 seed isn’t the odds on favorite? When looking at the bracket, check out the #8 seed. Yes, that is the same Joey Ward that has been a Thorn in Heil’s side. The field is the favorite here due to the depth and presence of Ashnault and Jack.

149lbs
Zain Retherford -250
Brandon Sorenson +300
Field +250

Commentary: Zain Retherford is the second heaviest odds favorite in the 2016 championships. If Clagon is able to navigate his way into the quarterfinals he gave Retherford his closest match of the season.

157lbs
Isaiah Martinez +115
Jason Nolf +110
Field +700

Commentary: Jason Nolf is a slight odds favorite from the #3 seed. IMar struggled a little through the Big Ten tournament before wrestling a great final bout. That leaves Nolf as the slight favorite to take home the title. Some might see value in the field getting an undefeated Thomas Gantt, as well as Ian Miller and Dylan Palacio.

165lbs
Alex Dieringer -275
The Jordans +200
Field +800

Commentary: Alex Dieringer is the heaviest favorite in the tournament, but don’t forget about the Daniel Lewis dual match that saw Lewis ride Dieringer to accumulate three minutes and twenty-four seconds of riding time. Damn Daniel, three minutes and twenty-four seconds? That possible semifinal could get real interesting if Lewis can steal an early takedown. I paired the Jordans up to give them some value against the heavily favored Alex Dieringer.

174lbs
Bo Nickal +140
Brian Realbuto +300
Field +150

Commentary: Bo Nickal is the odds favorite, but his go for broke style and laundry list of capable foes at 174lbs makes the field almost a co-favorite. Realbuto is capable and some will like the value of +300.

184lbs
Gabe Dean -225
Sammy Brooks +400
Field +250

Commentary: Gabe Dean didn’t have any problems forgetting about in-season losses last year en route to his national title last season. He did have to work for that title with razor thin matches starting in the round of 16. He is a solid favorite but, many will like the value of the field.

197lbs
Morgan McIntosh +150
J’Den Cox +135
Field +500

Commentary: J’Den Cox is the odds favorite out of the #2 seed. Cox had dominated the rivalry against McIntosh until the consolation semifinal last year. McIntosh also has the possibility of seeing Conner Hartmann in the semifinal.

285lbs
Nick Gwiazdowski +115
Kyle Snyder +115
Field +1500

Commentary: Kyle Snyder answered a lot of questions with his performance at the Big Ten Championships, but a huge question mark still remains and his name is Nick Gwiazdowski. The a co-favorites for good reason. Many experts can legitimately see the match playing out in either wrestlers favor for different reasons. I don’t think any reasonable number on the field could bring much action.
