Senior level wrestlers from the United States continued a busy span with freestyle and Greco Roman contingents competing in Istanbul, Turkey and Szombathely, Hungary this past weekend.

The feestyle team was in Istanbul, Turkey wrestling at the Yasar Dogu International. Jordan Burroughs and Anthony Nelson earned medals for the United States. Burroughs won a quality weight class with wins over 12th-ranked Soener Demirtas of Turkey and 2015 world 5th place finisher Zelimkhan Khadjiev. Anthony Nelson made it to the final where he fell to reigning world champion Taha Akguel of Turkey. Akguel won the only matchup of reigning world medalists in the semifinal when he downed Jamaladdin Magomedov of Azerbaijan. This was a rematch of the world final in Las Vegas at the 2015 world championships.  Medal winners and complete US results are found below.

The Greco Roman team wrestled at the Hungarian Grand Prix in Szombathely, Hungary. Ryan Mango and Geordan Speiller earned bronze medals in Hungary. Speiller had a huge quarterfinal win over 2014 world champion Peter Bacsi of Hungary. Speiller handed Bacsi an 8-2 loss on his way to the semifinal. Ryan Mango and Ildar Hafizov both fell to former junior world medalist Shinobu Ota of Japan. Mango and Hafizov were set to meet for the bronze medal, but Hafizov forfeited out of the bout.
