The boys from Pennsylvania are back atop the podium as PA Gold took home the 2015 VAC National Dual Championship title. After winning Pool 4 with a perfect 3-0 record, PA Gold won four of their five bouts in the Gold Pool which was good enough to put them in the Final 4.

Once in the Final 4, PA Gold battled tough. In their semi-final match versus Team Ohio Scarlet they let an early lead slip. Up 30-9 with five bouts to go, Ohio Scarlet
won out and picked up the necessary bonus points to tie the score at 30-30. However, Team PA Gold was awarded the 30-29 victory after Ohio Scarlet was
deducted one team point for an unsportsmanlike penalty.

This set up a showdown in the championship bout with the defending VAC National Dual Champions – NJ Scorpions Gold. PA Gold wasted no time in getting out to a quick start as the captured victories in the first five bouts of the finals. They picked up victories from Evan Maag, Alejandro Herrera-Rondon, Ryan Crookham, Chris Kim and Ryan Miller to take an 18-0 lead. 92-pound Dylan Cedeno was able to put a stop to the bleeding for the Scorpions as he picked up a 5-0 decision over Drew Munch. Anthony Clark followed that up with a 10-0 major over Gabe Willochell to make the score 18-7. Team PA Gold took a 24-7 lead after Andrew Cerniglia and Ed Scott picked up back to back victories in the 100 and 105-pound weight classes, respectfully. The Scorpions Gold were able to bring the score to 24-19 after Justin Rivera, Beau Bartlett, Caleb Haynes, and Alfonso Martinez all picked up victories by decision but 150-pound Gerrit Nijenhuis all but clinched the victory when he pinned Aaron Gandara in 3:54. With two bouts to go and down 30-19, Scorpions Gold would have to have a pair of victories by fall to pull the comeback. However, those hopes were dashed in the 180-pound weight class as Santos Cantu was only able to defeated Preston Zachman by decision 2-0. Nathaniel Deasey of the Scorpions ended the match by pinning Cameron Hutchinson in :51 seconds to bring the final score to 30-28.
