When Mikey Racciato is on the mat there is rarely ever a dull moment. And that was definitely the case this weekend.

 

Racciato started with a 3-2 win over Lehigh’s #11-ranked Randy Cruz when he and the Panthers visited Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall on Friday. Then he followed it up with a first place finish at the Keystone Classic where he defeated Richard Durso and #12-Todd Preston in the semis and finals. Before edging out Durso and Preston, he recorded a technical fall and major decision to get his championship run started on Sunday.

 

His impressive performance, which helped Pitt claim the team title, also earned him the OW award.

Barlow McGhee, Missouri – After a slow start in the finals against returning NCAA runner-up Zeke Moisey, McGhee turned up the heat and absolutely dominated the match as he picked up takedowns and back points to power himself to a 14-4 major decision.

Joe Smith, Oklahoma State – The young Cowboy is now 13-0 after winning the 157-pound title at the Joe Parisi Open. En route to his title he recorded three bonus point victories before getting to the semis where he outlasted Missouri’s #16-ranked Joey LaVallee, 5-3. He capped it off with an 8-2 win over 19-Dylan Cottrell of West Virginia.

 

Bryce Meredith, Wyoming – Put on an absolutely dominant showing against #8-Anthony Abidin as the Cowboys visited the Huskers. Meredith gave Wyoming its first (and only)win of the dual with 13-4 major decision.

 

Joey McKenna, Stanford – McKenna has been climbing the ranking already this season has continued to cement himself as one of the best. He attacked Penn State’s Jimmy Gulibon early and often as he recorded a 7-3 decision over the Nittany Lion.

Pat Lugo, Edinboro – Took the early lead and never relinquished it as he defeated #18-Laike Gardner of Lehigh to give the Fighting Scots their first win of the day when they  visited the Mountain Hawks on Sunday.
