Let's have a little FloFun.

A part of all major sporting events, wagering lines add another dynamic of anticipation. So we've come up with hypothetical odds for an event card that features nothing but the top ranked wrestlers in America.

The question is - what matches would you risk money on for a payout?

Don't tell us after the fact, "I knew it!" Comment below or tweet at us.

For you rookies, here's a tutorial on the odds and lines:

The Match Line: EX.: -2.5
This means that if you choose that wrestler, he must win by 3pts. for you to win. If you choose the other guy, that wrestler must win outright or lose by 2pts. for you to win. This is an equal money bet; you risk $10, you win $10.

Over/Under: EX.: 10.5pts
You're betting on the total number of points scored in the match. If the score at the end of the match is 6-5, and you took the over, you won!

The Money Line: EX.: +$220
This means you've taken the underdog to win the match by any score (or fall). For every $10 you risk, you win $22. Or if you wager $100, you win $220. Conversely, if you take a favorite at, say, -$175, you have to risk $17.50 to win $10.

Match #1 - 132lbs - #1-Chad Red, IN (-1.5) vs. #4-Taylor Lamont, UT - O/U 7.5pts
Red to Win: -$175
LaMont to Win: +$150

The Situation: Red hasn't lost in a very long time, winning Fargo and Super 32 in '14, and this year's FloNationals. Lamont has proven he can knock off anyone with his laundry list of defeated opponents and win over Mitch McKee in this year's Fargo finals.
But Lamont does have some losses against unranked foes, making Red a clear favorite to win outright.
That being said, Lamont is 5-1 all time against Red, which is why the match line a modest 1.5 points while the money line is much more lopsided. 



Match #2 - 132lbs - #2-Luke Pletcher, PA (+2.5) vs. #3-Yianni Diakomihalis, NY - O/U 7.5pts
Pletcher to Win: +$140
Yianni to Win: -$190

The Situation: Yianni just laid waste to the Cadet World tournament and a Journeymen Classic bracket with Top Ten guys in it. Although he's ranked just 3rd, that's a product of moving up weight classes. In the eyes of most fans, he's the favorite to win the 132lb. mini-tournament. 
That being said, Pletcher has been everywhere and won everything. He also wrestles tightly contested matches, so the point spread is set at a manageable 2.5pts. 
Personally, I don't agree with the money line; there is value in laying a few bucks on Luke here. But the betting public is Yianni-crazy.


Match #3 - 182lbs - #1-Dakota Geer, PA (+2.5) vs. #2-Beau Breske, WI - O/U 8.5pts
Geer to Win: +$165
Breske to Win: -$200

The Situation: A small-school Champ from PA, Geer doesn't have the national schedule (and thus, reputation) that typifies Top 5 status. He beat the same wrestler (Corey Hazel) in state finals and FloNats semi's. But his stiffest test there didn't materialize as Dylan Wisman got beat in the other semifinal. The result is that although he's the #1 guy in the land, he doesn't have a long list of elite wins.
Enter Breske, who's coming up from 170 where he was a mainstay in the Top 5 for years. He's coming off a monster Fargo where he won the title over another FloNats Champ, Xavier Montalvo.
The betting public will likely side with the household name, bloating both the match line and the money line.


Match #4 - 113lbs - #1-Gavin Teasdale, PA (-1.5) vs. #2-Roman Bravo-Young, AZ - O/U 10.5pts
Teasdale To Win: -$150
RBY to Win: +$125

The Situation: One of the most even odds at WNO through 'the book,' this match is expected to be close. Teasdale has a Fargo title and two Akron titles while RBY has won both styles in Fargo the last two years. RBY was in Gavin's bracket in Akron but lost early. He came back to take 3rd, beating the kid (Jordan Decatur) that beat him.
Teasdale hasn't lost to an American in his high school career, but there have been some scares, making him the favorite, but just barely.


Match #5 - 145lbs - #1-Jared Verkleeren, PA (-1.5) vs. #2-Kyle Bierdumpfel, NJ - O/U 9.5pts
Verkleeren to Win: -$150
Bierdumpfel to Win: +$130

The Situation: Like Geer at 182, Bierdumpfel doesn't get a lot of love for being one of the top wrestlers in the country and a 3x-state finalist. And like Yianni, Verkleeren's Cadet World Gold is fresh on the minds of the community and bettors. But remember, that was at 63kg (138lbs), and Bierdumpfel is a big 45er.



Match #6 - 152lbs - #1-Hayden Hidlay, PA (-1.5) vs. #2-Mason Manville, VA - O/U 5.5pts
Hidlay to Win: -$175
Manville to Win: +$140

The Situation: Hidlay has now beaten Manville in all three styles. The freestyle bout was 7-0, while the recent Journeymen folk bout was a 1-takedown affair. With Manville's ability to ride on top the lines tighten up a bit.


Match #7 - 195lbs - #1-Nick Reenan, TX (-3.5) vs. #2-Sam Colbray, OR - O/U 13.5pts 
Reenan to Win: -$225
Colbray to Win: +$170

The Situation: Colbray has been a straight up hammer at 182/195 for his entire career.Reenan was always highly ranked, but has been on fire and shot up the P4P rankings. He'll be undersized here against Colbray, but the betting public will have him as a heavy favorite.
The story with these guys are big moves and high scores, which give them the highest over-under on the card.




Match #8 - 220lbs - #1-Gable Steveson, MN (-3.5) vs. #2-Jordan Wood, PA - O/U 11.5pts
Steveson to Win: -$250
Wood to Win: +$200

The Situation: Wood was the clear #1 in the country when the two met in Akron where Steveson won convincingly. Wood was a returning World Silver. Steveson went on to win World Gold.
The response from the community has this as one of the most intriguing match-ups. Everyone understands that the young Gable Steveson is the truth. The question is: can Wood make the adjustments?
And the best part is, these guys like to put up points.



Match #9 - 126lbs - #1-Daton Fix, OK (-1.5) vs. #2-Rudy Yates, IL - O/U 7.5pts
Fix to Win: -$190
Rudy to Win: +$155

The Situation: Fix wrestles pretty much everywhere and has been more P4P wrestlers than anyone in the country. While Yates hasn't wrestled as busy a national schedule, but he has the longest winning streak in the nation, not suffering a defeat since FloNats '14 finals where he fell to Yianni. 
I put this match (second to) last because it's sure to be entertaining. But the O/U is a conservative 7.5 because their defense is both so good.
