Mike Krause Over Under Training Plan: Day 6
From day one of wrestling the over-under position is crucial. Having a solid gameplan, and being effective with that game plan can lead to bigtime points. A good combination of pressure, position, and technique will allow you to put an opponent in position to be attacked. Below you will see how to get to the over-under position, and score off of misdirection leg attacks, bear hugs, and throws, along with a practice plan and drills to go with each technique.

Day 6

Goals are to feel comfortable being locked up over/under with a tough opponent! Calm intensity!

Technique #1- High Inside Trip

Key points
On this LAT PULL we step back at the same time with our right leg. (if your right handed)
On this High Inside trip we go “knee pit to Knee pit”
Your chest hits his chest with some force
On the descent down...get your hands out!!
Finish with shoulder turn when opponent tries to get off back.

Watch Krause help us campers perfect the inside trip!

Practice Plan
6 x 30 sec pummeling. The speed you can go while moving your feet.
10 x lat pull double legs choice of your finish
10 x lift and flips. Twist down fast and make sure you release the knee and wrap the body!
10 x bear hugs to the back. Work on that footwork.
10 x laterals from your knees and work on holding opponent on back….hips up or hips down? Which way is your opponent turning?
10 x laterals from your feet. Be a good partner when he hooks your knee...STEP BACK!
10 x High Inside trips. Get your hands out to brace yourself and stop your opponent from just rolling to his stomach.
