#4 Ohio State lead from start to finish against #2 Minnesota. Logan Stieber won a barn burner with #4 Nick Dardanes, and Kyle Snyder scored a takedown at the buzzer to knock off Scott Schiller! 

 

125 Ethan Lizak-Minnesota v #7 Nathan Tomasello-Ohio State

1st Period: Tomasello in on a high crotch just ten seconds in and finishes. He leads Lizak 2-0 early. Lizak with an escape, Tomasello with another high crotch cut to a double, he leads 4-1. Lizak with another escape, now 4-2 with a minute to go. Yet another beautiful high crotch cut to a double, he now takes a 6-2 lead, and thats how the first period ends.

 

2nd Period: Tomasello starts on bottom, and picks up an escape to take an 8-2 lead. Lizak with an escape and a spin and go behind for Tomasello to take a 10-3 lead. Lizak grabs an escape, and Tomasello hits another high crotch, cut to a double for the takedown. Lizak gets another escape, and Tomasello finishes another beautiful high crotch. Tomasello leads 14-5.

 

3rd Period:Lizak going to choose top. Bold move there cotton. Lizak making me look silly though though, riding Tomasello for 1:30. Lizak now dinged for stalling. Tomasello finally gets an escape, gets in on another high crotch and finished. Tomasello going to win this one 18-5.

133 Sam Brancle-Minnesota v #7 Johnni DiJulious-Ohio State

1st Period: JDJ goes to his dump and finshes to take a 2-0 with 1:20 to go. JDJ with a leg in riding tough and he"ll ride out the remainder of the period. 

 

2nd Period:JDJ will chose bottom. JDJ out in no time, no takes a 3-0 lead. JDJ still going back to his 2 on 1 trying to get to his dump, but Brancale able to fend it off. 

 

3rd Period:Brancale will now start on bottom. Brancale gets an escape 30 seconds into the period, 3-1 now. Nice high crotch from JDJ, Brancale break JDJ flat to his belly, unable to score off of it and its stalemated. JDJ holds off a charging Brancale and wins 3-1.

141 #4 Nick Dardanes-Minnesota v #1 Logan Stieber-Ohio State

 

1st Period: A minute in no real attempts from either guy. Steiber snaps dardanes into his front headlock, gets a merkle and gets Dardanes hands to touch the match and scores the takedown, he leads 2-0. Dardanes with an escape right away now 2-1. Steiber in on a single on the edge of the mat and finishes with 5 seconds left to take a 4-1 lead into the second. 

 

2nd Period:Stieber will choose bottom. Logie Bear out right away and now leads 5-1. Nice scramble on the edge of the mat again, and Stieber able to trip Dardanes down for another takedown to lead 7-1. Stieber gets to high on top, and Dardanes able to come out the back door and score the reversal, 7-3 now. Stieber once again scores the buzzer, this time an escape 8-3 now. 

 

3rd Period:Dardanes chooses bottom, gets an escape right away. Now 8-4. Stieber dinged for stalling with 1:20 to go. Dardanes conitunes to pressure forward and with 26 seconds to go gets hit for stalling again, now 8-5. Blood time for Steiber now. Dardanes scores quick, now 8-7, cuts him, 9-7, Dardanes with another takedown to make it 9-9!! But Steiber has riding time so Dardanes kicks him and he runs out of time, Steiber holds onto to win 10-9!

149 Jake Short-Minnesota v Randy Languis-Ohio State

 

1st Period:Short in on a high crotch, but Languis fends him off enough for time to run out. 

 

2nd Period:Short starts this period on bottom. He is able to get an escape 30 seconds in. Shot from Languis, re-attack from Short. Neither guy able to improve and its once again stalemated. 

 

3rd Period:Languis starts the period on bottom, and gets the escape right away. Tied at 1 now. Guys exchage shots at the buzzer, but nothing doing, free wrestling!


SV1: Shot from Languis, reattack high crotch from Short and he takes this one in overtime to get the Gophers on the board!

157 #1 Dylan Ness-Minnesota v #9 Josh Demas-Ohio State

 

1st Period:A minute in and nothing doing from either guy. High Crotch attemp from Demas, but Ness able to stuff it. Sweet duck attemp from Demas, Ness able to throw him through as he goes to his gator bacon, but no two. Another slick duck from Demas and this time scores with the no reaction time! Ness escapes right away and Demas leads 2-1 after one. 

 

2nd Period: Demas going to go underneath Ness to start the second. Ness doing a great job of riding here, and Demas gets hit for stalling as Ness as him flat on the mat. Ness is going to ride out the remainder of the period. 

 

3rd Period:Ness going to start the third on bottom and Demas kicks him right away. 2-2 on the scoreboard but Ness has 1:58 of ride time. Nice ankle pick from Demas, Ness with a shin whizzer and able to get his leg back, 30 seconds to go! Ness hit for stalling with 10 seconds to go, but picks up a go behind to win 5-2 with riding time.

165 #16 Nick Wanzek-Minnesota v #5 Bo Jordan-Ohio State

 

1st Period: Jordan in on a single just ten seconds in and cuts across to a double and finishes, 2-0 he leads. Jordan with a power half, looks like he had swipes to me, but the official doesn't think so. Wanzek gets an escape now 2-1. Wanzek in on a low single, but Jordan able to tie him up and earn the stalemate. Beauty of a sweep single from Jordan and finishes to take a 4-1 lead. 

 

2nd Period:Wanzek starts on bottom, Jordan cuts him, 4-2 now, but Jordan in on a shot right away and he scores a takedown to take a 6-2 lead. Wanzek out right away, and Jordan once again in on a shot and finishes to take an 8-3 lead. Samething again, Wanzek escapes and Jordan takes him down right away and leads 10-4. Jordan runs a power half over and has Wanzek on his back and he picks up the fall!!!

174 #4 Logan Storley-Minnesota v #13 Mark Martin-Ohio State

1st Period: No real attemps from either guy, and the first period ends scoreless. 

 

2nd Period: Storley starts underneath, he escapes right away and leads 1-0. Storley with a couple attemps, and gets in briefly but nothing doing. 

 

3rd Period:Martin chooses neutral so Storley still leads 1-0. Martin in deep on a sweep single, but Storley able to get his leg back and square up. Storley now dinged for stalling with 15 to go, Martin shoots from too far away and Storley goes around behind to win 3-0!

184 #12 Brett Pfarr-Minnesota v #16 Kenny Courts-Ohio State

 

1st Period: Halfway through the first, zero shots from either guy so far. Scoreless first period after no shots from either wrestler. 

 

2nd Period:Pfarr starts on bottom and gets an escape right away and takes a 1-0 lead. Once again no attacks from anyone on their feet. 

 

3rd Period:Courts will go on bottom to start the third trailing 1-0. Courts able to score an escape to tie it at 1! Courts in on a sweep single, catches the hip and scores a takedown with ten seconds left to win 3-1!! Minnesota is going to challenge though. The call stands though!

197 #3 Scott Schiller-Minnesota v #5 Kyle Snyder-Ohio State

1st Period:Ankle pick here for Snyder, has Schiller's leg up in the air, Schiller now gets his leg on the mat with a closed whizzer and he gets the stalemate. 

 

2nd Period: Snyder starts the second on bottom and gets an escape right away, he leads 1-0. Snyder continues to push the pace and earns a stall call on Schiller with 15 seconds left! Thats how the second period ends. 

 

3rd Period: Schiller starts on bottom and gets away right away and we are tied at 1! Guys exchange shots, Snyder goes double underhooks and jacks up Schiller but they go out of bounds with exactly one minute to go. High crotch for Snyder has Schilelrs leg up in the air, now has it shelved on the mat and he finishes with 10 seconds left and he wins it!!

285 #14 Michael Kroells-Minnesota v Ray Gordon-Ohio State

 

1st Period: Kroells gets in on a double leg and finishes just 30 seconds in and takes a 2-0 lead! Gordon able to get an escape, and Kroells lead is now 2-1. Sweep single for Gordon, Kroells able to get a closed whizzer and is saved by the buzzer. 

 

2nd Period: Kroells starts on bottom, gets the escape right away and takes a 3-1 lead. Nice shot from Kroells and he finished to take a 5-1 lead, and then kicks Gordon so now 5-2. Gordon with a shot on the edge, but Kroells goes around behind and scores a takedown to extend his lead to 7-2. 

 

3rd Period:Gordon will start on bottom, and gets the escape right away to make it 7-3. Kroells adds anothe takedown and then kicks Gordon, 9-3 now. Nice high single from Kroells, he trips down Gordon and takes an 11-4 lead. Kroells will kick Gordon again, now 11-5. Kroells adds another go behind and takes a 13-5 lead, and then cuts Gordon and takes him down once again to lead 15-6. Kroells kicks Gordon one more time, and scores another takedown and wins this one 18-7!
