Pico Impresses Once Again
Aaron Pico is always putting on huge performances and this passed weekend in Nice, France was no different for the future Bellator MMA fighter.

At the Henri Deglane Challenge on Saturday he lit up the field on his way to the top of another podium. He began with three straight technical falls then turned it up a notch in the semifinals where he defeated 2013 Junior World silver medalist Davit Berdznishvil of Georgia, 10-5.

He closed out his championship run with an 8-5 victory over 2013 Armenian World Champion David Safaryan in the final to take home the 65 kg title.

His dominant performance earned him the Flo Wrestler of the Week honor.

Randy Cruz, Lehigh:
Recorded back-to-back falls over No. 15-ranked Steven Rodrigues of Illinois in 1:30 and No. 20 Jameson Oster of Northwestern in 5:37 as the 18th-ranked Mountain Hawks upset the No.16 Illini and No. 7 Wild Cats.

Johnny Eblen, Missouri: Bumped to 197-pounds where he claimed victories over 7th-ranked Braden Atwood of Purdue, 3-0 and Oklahoma’s Andrew Dixon, 3-1. He finished with a fall against Nassau Community College at 184 to complete his undefeated day at the Northeast Duals.

Joey Lavallee, Missouri: Had an undefeated day at the Northeast Duals that included a 3-1 victory over No. 14 Justin DeAngelis of Oklahoma. He also had wins over Purdue’s Doug Welch, 10-4 and Hofstra’s Jahlani Callender, 5-1.

Anthony Valencia, USA: Won a 74 kg bronze medal at the Brazil Cup in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Valencia defeated Allan Matos of Brazil, 12-0 before falling to eventual champion Khetik Tsabalov of Russia by 10-0 tech. fall. He came back to record a 14-2 tech. fall of his own in the bronze medal match over Brazil’s Pedro Rocha.
