There are good things going on in Gopher-Land right now. The haul headed to Minneapolis continues to grow as Larry Early III has committed to wrestle at the University of Minnesota. The Illinois native attends Oak Park and River Forest where he won the 2014 Illinois State Championship at 145 pounds after finishing 2nd and 3rd as a Sophomore and Freshman. Early has also been a Fargo Champ in Cadet Greco, an All American in Cadet Freestyle as well as a Folkstyle National Champ.

Early has notched wins over the likes of Seth Gross and Jo Jo Smith. Early projects as a 157/165 at the next level. OPRF has two other Huskies on the Minnesota roster in All-American’s Nick and Chris Dardanes.

Larry offered his thoughts on the decision:

"I'm committing to Minnesota because on my first unofficial visit I instantly loved it, and felt I belonged there. Their intensity on and off the mat is something you don't see too often. I feel like I'm a great fit and those are the coaches and guys I want to be around. I love it and can't wait to be GopherTough!"

Early joins Fredy Stroker and Robert Steveson as cornerstone Class of 2015 recruits committed to wrestle at Minnesota.

Here’s a little sampling of what Larry will bring to the table at Minnesota:
