National Wrestling Hall of Fame Honors Weekend
Stillwater, Okla., June 20-21

Information on the 38th Honors Weekend for the National Wrestling Hall of Fame this weekend.

The 2014 Honorees are:
* Distinguished Members: Eric Guerrero, San Jose, Calif.; Dean Lahr, Eugene, Ore.; Mickey Martin, Jenks, Okla.; Kerry McCoy, Longwood, N.Y.
* Outstanding American: Jim Jordan, Urbana, Ohio
* Outstanding American: Colin Kilrain, Virginia Beach, Va.
* Order of Merit: Tim Johnson, Mount Vernon, Iowa
* Medal of Courage: Tom Norris, Hayden Lake, Id.
* Lifetime Achievement for Officials: Jerry Kuntz, Yukon, Okla.
* Dave Schultz High School Excellence Recipient: Chance Marsteller, Fawn Grove, Pa.
* Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Recipient: Marina Doi, Kingsburg, Calif.

About the Distinguished Members: Eric Guerrero and Kerry McCoy both represented the United States as Olympic freestyle wrestlers. Guerrero was a three-time NCAA champion and four-time All-American for Oklahoma State University. He also won four U.S. Open titles and a World Cup championship in 2003. McCoy won two NCAA titles for Penn State and went on to win five World Championships and was a two-time Olympian. Dean Lahr was an NCAA champion for the University of Colorado and became the first and only Outstanding Wrestler in school history. He was successful internationally, competing on two World teams. Mickey Martin was a two-time NCAA champion and 1964 Outstanding Wrestler for the University of Oklahoma. After his collegiate career, he turned his focus to coaching for more than 25 years.

About the other Award Winners
Medal of Courage winner Tom Norris, was an ACC champion for the University of Maryland in 1965 and 1966. A recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor, Norris led a five-man patrol through enemy territory to save two downed pilots.
Outstanding Americans Jim Jordan and Colin Kilrain were college wrestlers who went on to amazing careers. Jordan wrestled for the University of Wisconsin and has excelled serving as part of both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. Kilrain, who wrestled at Lehigh, served as a Navy SEAL and is currently a Rear Admiral for the Navy.
Order of Merit winner Tim Johnson has been "the voice" of college wrestling for the past 28 years. He has broadcast more than 300 collegiate wrestling events, including the last 11 NCAA championships. He also launched the sport-specific national ministry of FCA Wrestling.
Jerry Kuntz is known as one of the finest officials in the US and has officiated 98 national tournaments. He has also officiated seven World Team Trials and two Olympic Trials. He coached Oklahoma high school wrestling for Clinton, Putnam City and Casady for more than 20 years.
Chance Marsteller was an undefeated four-time Pennsylvania state champion, three-time Outstanding Wrestler at the state tournament, FILA Cadet Freestyle and Greco-Roman champion, FILA Cadet World team member, two-time Super 32 champ and four-time Powerade champion, with academic and community service achievements. He signed with Oklahoma State.
Marina Doi was a two-time California Interscholastic Federation state champion, a three-time FILA Cadet World medalist, four-time USA Wrestling Triple Crown winner, three-time FILA Cadet Pan-American champion with academic and community service achievements. She will attend King University in the fall.

Of local interest: Guerrero, the associate head coach at Oklahoma State University, was a three-time NCAA champion for the Cowboys. Mickey Martin, who wrestled at OU, was a two-time NCAA champion and Outstanding Wrestler at the event in 1964. Kuntz served as an Oklahoma high school wrestling coach for more than 20 years and taught high schoolers in the classroom. Marsteller is a newcomer to the Oklahoma State wrestling team, who enters his first season as a Cowboy this fall.
