Narrowing down the top 5 biggest matches was no small feat.
#5 Cody Walters over Billy Curling-The Bobcat All American stopped the bleeding and got back on track for this season. He’d faltered against several MAC opponents this year, but when it was crunch time, Walters had the goods against both Ottinger and Curling!
#4 Jack Dechow over Ryan Loder-Many viewed Dechow’s earlier win over Loder as a fluke. Dechow showed us that it was just the opposite. Dechow now enters the national conversation.
#3 Lenny Richardson over Tywan Claxton-Apparently Richardson wasn't as interested in the Houdashelt v. Claxton rematch as the rest of us. He took out Tywan and then proceeded to push Drake to the wire in the finals!
#2 J’den Cox over Phil Wellington-Revenge. There may be nothing sweeter. J’den made a statement to Phil Wellington in the MAC finals: Never again.
#1 Joey Lazor over Chris Mecate-Beating Horan was one thing, but Mecate has been phenomenal all season long. Many thought Lazor’s Cinderella run was over. They were dead wrong. Mecate tasted the nastiest Banana split of his life in this one!
