Great dual!  Action in all 10 matches.  Great efforts by lots of guys.  McIntosh looked really sharp as did Storley and Ness.
125-#2 Nico Megaludis-PSU v. Jordan Kingsley-Minnesota

1st Period: Underway here.  No Brancale which is not good if you're Minnesota.  Megaludis in on the single right away.  Kingsley working really hard with a whizzer.  Nico comes up to his feet, steps over and gets the 2.  Going straight to work on Kingsley's wrist.  There's the escape making it 2-1 Megaludis.  Nico back in on a shot, nearly locks up a nearside cradle but Kingsley fights it off.  Nico with the finish and it's 4-1 Nico after 1. 1:16 RT for Nico.

2nd Period: Kingsley takes bottom and Nico cuts him immediately.  A pair of takedowns and escapes and it's 8-4 now and Nico smells blood.  30 to go and Nico is back on the shot.  Kingsley loves that whizzer.  Megaludis looking to go back door and finishes.  10-4 now after 2.

3rd Period: Nico takes bottom.  Quick escape and he's right on the low double, quick finish and it's 13-4.  Nico lets him up again and it's 13-5.  Back on the leg and we are at 15-5.  Nico going to really work for the nearfall.   30 to go.  Roll through tilt makes it 19-5 with riding time for the major decision.

Team Score: 4-0 PSU
133-#14 Jimmy Gulibon-PSU v. #8 David Thorn-Minnesota

1st Period: Gulibon in on the leg immediately but it gets stalemated.  Thorn diggint an underhook and working for snaps.  Nice single by Thorn but Jimmy kicks out.  Another single from Thorn and Jimmy kicks out no sweat.  Thorn nearly scores with the slide by and he's really pushing the pace as well as moving Jimmy around the mat.  Wouldn't be surprised if there was a warning soon.  Thorn with a few fakes.  Jimmy hanging on the collar.  That'll do it for period number 1.

2nd Period: Thorn takes bottom and escapes in 15 or so seconds.  Jimmy nearly gets whipped over but clears up for no points.  1-0 Thorn.
There's the warning against Jimmy.  Just getting moved all over and not very offensive right now.  Thorn looks for a duck.  That'll do it for the 2nd.

3rd Period: Gulibon goes bottom.  Thorn breaks him down immediately and has a leg in.  Gulibon looking to switch out.  Thorn locking around the crotch now.  Thorn's got riding time and is goin to ride out here for the 2-0 win for Thorn.

Team Score: 4-3 PSU
141-#3 Zain Retherford-PSU v. #4 Chris Dardanes-Minnesota

1st Period: Alright here we got for a big one.  Two shots so far for Retherford.  Two shots from space by Zain and Dardanes gives him a big helping of his hips.  1:30 to go.  Beautiful double by Zain and switches to the single with 20 left in the first now.  Legs in and Dardanes struggling to get away.  2-0 after 1 for Zain.

2nd Period: Zain takes bottom and is out right away. 3-0 Zain.  Zain keeping the pressure on, great position by Zain and Dardanes can't open him up.

3rd Period: Dardanes takes bottom.  Yikes Coaches yelling" You can get away Chris!"  Let's see if thats true.  Zain riding really tough, got the legs in.  No, he's not close to the turn, but that's not really his game.  30 to go RT locked now.  4-0 Zain.  That looked super easy from start to finish.

Team Score:7-3 PSU
149-#17 Zach Beitz-PSU v. #2 Nick Dardanes-Minnesota

1st Period: So it's Beitz for PSU.  Not surprising. TD Beitz with an ankle pick right away.  2-1 after the immediate escape by Dardanes with 2:30 to go.  Beitz darn close to another ankle pick.  Dardanes pushing forward and taking ground.  Straight double attempt from Dardanes no problem for Beitz to defend.  That's how the first will end.

2nd Period: Beitz takes bottom.  He's out immediately.  Really active collar and ankle attacks from Beitz.  Dardanes not able to get to his ties at all and Beitz is just keeping him at bay.  More collar and ankle from Beitz.  Dardanes only pushing right now, no attempts.  As I say that he takes a half shot that gets the crowd going.  17 left and it's 3-1 Beitz.
Thats how the 2nd ends.

3rd Period: Dardanes takes bottom and is out right away.  3-2 Beitz.  Might see a warning soon for Beitz.  Dardanes on his patended double. gets to the edge.  Dardanes drops to the single and Beitz kicks out of bounds and it's a technical violation fleeing the mat on Beitz.  3-3 now and Cael is at the table.   PSU challenging the call and the refs are looking it over.  It was actlly a great defense by Beitz to even stop the double.  This is taking way too long.  Look at the replay, make your assessment and lets go.  Call stands.  3-3 now with 25 to go.  No score but Dardanes snaps are opening him up moreso now.

SV1: Snaps really opening Beitz up but Dardanes hasn't been able to capitalize.  Beitz backing out and fading a bit.  Beitz able to fight off a go behind attempt and we are heading to TB1.

TB1: Beitz underneath looking for a switch but Dardanes somehow locks hands.  The rideout was coming too, holy cow what a mistake by Dardanes.  Dardanes gets the rideout

TB2:  Dardanes underneath up and out immediately and it's 4-4.
Beitz nearly scores with another ankle pick.

SV2: Here we go.  Both guys are tired but are still wrestling very hard.  Single for Dardanes, shelfs it and gets the 2!  What a match and win for Dardanes.  Gutty effort by Beitz

Team Score: 7-6 PSU

157-#12 Dylan Alton-PSU v. #9 Dylan Ness-Minnesota

1st Period:  Alton in on a single right away.  Ness does a Ness-thing and gets 2.  What a freak, ha.  Now he's going to work on top with a bar and a half!  Alton fighting him very tough and not going over.  Now Ness has it deep again but can't take him over.  Out of bounds and back to center we go.  1:00 left in the first.  Deep waist and wrist for Ness.   Alton struggling to move underneath and can't get away.  There's the rideout.  2-0 Ness after 1.

2nd Period: Ness takes bottom, quick switch and Alton kicks him out. 3-0 Ness.  Ness somehow gets warned for stalling.   Pretty horrible call.  Should either have been nothing or the technical violation for fleeing. 25 seconds left.  Alton punches to a high crotch but can't finish.

3rd Period: Alton takes neutral.  Ankle attack from Ness and a nice re-attack from Alton.  Shot by Alton.  Ness hits his ELEVATOR FOR THE FALL!!  WHAT A BOSS!!

Dylan Ness WBF!  Your move, David Taylor!

Team Score: 12-7 Minnesota

165-#1 David Taylor-PSU v. Danny Zilverberg-Minnesota

1st Period:   Heavy hands from Zilverberg right away.  DT gets to the leg and a scramble goes down.  Zilverberg gets the near leg in and there's the 2 for Zilverberg.  Wow.  Zilverberg was actually somewhat near a tilt for a moment.  DT pretty still underneath currtently.  There's another stalemate and there's only 37 to go in the 1st.  Nice granby and reversal from Taylor and now it's 2-2.  Zilverberg turtled up under and there's the end of 1.  2-2.

2nd Period: Zilverberg takes bottom.  Leg comes in right away and theres the stalemate after Zilverberg looked pretty good for a second there.  1:26 left in the 2nd.  Zilverberg keeping his wrists pretty well.  Not much action from either guy.  Nice tilt from Taylor  Almost got 2 sets, but with the 5 count it's 5-2 after 2.

3rd Period: Taylor takes bottom.  Leg comes in for Zilverberg but DT with the quick reversal.  Taylor kicks him free and gets to a high crotch for the takedown.  It's 9-3 and Taylor acts like he's going to let him up but instead he goes to the nearside cradle and it's 12-3.  Zilverberg was able to fight out of it somehow.  So it's just a major for Taylor with the 13-3 win.

Team Score: 12-11 Minnesota

174-#3 Matt Brown-PSU v. #6 Logan Storley-Minnesota

1st Period: Underway here and Storley gets to the ankle, but Brown fights it off.  No score.  Gator roll attempt from Brown but he can't get around behind or stop Storleys motion so no score still.  Nice sweep from Brown but runs out of time on what would have been a sure finish for Brown.  Scoreless after 1.

2nd Period: Brown takes bottom.  Caution Brown.  Tripod from Brown.  Up to his feet and theres the escape.  1-0 Brown. Brown back in on the single, Storley pulls him up with the overhook and Brown goes to his back!   2 and 2 for Storley making it 4-1 Storley.  2nd caution on Brown.  54 to go in the 2nd.  Return from Storley and 42 to go with Storley still riding.

3rd Period: Once again Brown winds up on his back!  Brown nearly had the go behind and Storleys freak hips put Brown on his pack and it's 7-2 now!  Stall poin for Brown makes it 7-3.  Time runs out and Storley wins!  What an effort by Storley!

Team Score: 15-11 Minnesota

184-#1 Ed Ruth-PSU v. #7 Kevin Steinhaus-Minnesota

1st Period: Big 10 Finals rematch.  Ridiculous sweep from Ruth but great D from Steinhaus to avoid giving up the 2.  Steinhaus to the High Crotch and picks Ed up in the air.  As soon as Kevin returns Ruth gets his hips back and gets the 2.  Now he's got the cradle locked up but as Ed looks to roll through Steinhaus gets his arm out and gets the escape.  2-1 Ruth.  Penalty point on Steinhaus for an illegal front headlock makes it 3-1 after 1.

2nd Period: Steinhaus takes bottom and Ruth keeps almost locking the cradle up.  Nice ride from Ruth and there's the rideout.

3rd Period: Ruth takes bottom.  Tough ride by Steinhaus with the leg scooped and wrists controlled.  1:05 left in this one.  There's the esacpe for Ruth making it 4-1 Ruth.  Steinhaus in on the leg but Ruth gets the takedown for the 7-1 win.
