Another big time weekend coming our way. We are LOADED in the back end of this weekend, holy cow.

Friday, February 7th:

Virginia Tech v. Pittsburgh

Two really good teams but this one lacks that big time ranked v. ranked matchup.

However, at 149 All American 19th ranked Zach Neibert will need to be on his toes against True Freshman and 20th ranked Mike Racciato who is quite the pinner.

Other matches of interest for me are Joey Dance v. Anthony Zanetta at 125 and Dennis Gustafson v. Shelton Mack.

Illinois v. Purdue
At 133 we’ll have #10 Zane Richards of Illinois taking on #12 Cashe Quiroga. Both guys are great on their feet so expect a lot of neutral wrestling here.

North Carolina v. Virginia
UNC’s big gun Evan Henderson (ranked 5th) will be taking on the currently slumping Joe Spisak of UVA (ranked 14th). Two great mat wrestlers here.

Michigan v. Nebraska
Connor Youtsey is looking to string some wins together for the Wolverines. Though currently unranked he’s quite formidable. He’ll be facing #11 Tim Lambert who isn’t really known for separating from guys.

The marquee match here is clearly #4 Jake Sueflohn v. #5 Eric Grajales. Eric has been great lately, but is often prone to an inconsistent performance. Sueflohn has been rock steady all year for the Huskers. Check out their CONTROVERSIAL match from CKLV last December.

We’ve got another CKLV rematch here when #13 Brian Murphy will face #1 James Green. Green narrowly edged Murphy earlier. Was that an off match for Green or is Murphy ready to knock off Green?

#8 Dan Yates will take on #19 Austin Wilson at 165 pounds.

Two TOUGH Freshman will duke it out here when #10 TJ Dudley will face #18 Dom Abounader!

Saturday, February 8th
Brown v. Penn
At 184 we’ll see #12 Ophir Bernstein take on #14 Lorenzo Thomas.

CSU Bakersfield v. Oklahoma State
#2 Chris Perry will be challenged by CSU Bakersfields 11th ranked Bryce Hammond.

Iowa State v UNI
Pumped for a few of these.

First, we get a rematch of Cliff Keen at 125 where we saw Earl Hall give up the pin late while leading against UNI’s 6th ranked Dylan Peters.

The big one comes at 165 though when Freshman Cooper Moore, ranked 10th will take on All American and 11th ranked Mike Moreno of Iowa State.

Sunday, February 9th
MSU v. Indiana
Big bout with the big boys! #4 Adam Chalfant of Indiana will wrestle #6 Mike McClure of Michigan State.

PSU v. Minnesota
Superdual comin!

#2 Nico Megaludis v. #19 Sam Brancale
#14 Jimmy Gulibon v. #8 David Thorn
#3 Zain Retherford v. #4 Chris Dardanes
#2 Nick Dardanes v. #17 Zach Beitz or Andrew Alton
#12 Dylan Alton v. #9 Dylan Ness
#1 David Taylor v. Danny Zilverberg
#3 Mat Brown v. #6 Logan Storley
#1 Ed Ruth v. #7 Kevin Steinhaus
# 6 Morgan McIntosh v. #1 Scott Schiller
Jon Gingrich v. #5 Tony Nelson

Michigan v. Iowa
Tough spot for #17 Rossi Bruno taking on #3 Tony Ramos. Not much else to say here.

#8 Josh Dziewa will need to be on his game against Stephen Dutton. Dutton will be able to scramble fairly well with Dziewa and is skilled on the mat as well. He may be unranked but he’s legit.

#3 Derek St. John wrestled 13th ranked Brian Murphy of Michigan. Murphy had the big win over Dylan Ness (who recently knocked off DSJ).

5th ranked Eric Grajales has a busy weekend ahead of him. Had Sueflohn already and now he gets #10 Brody Grothus of Iowa.

At 184 #4 Ethen Lofthouse will take on #16 Dom Abounader of Michigan.

#1 Adam Coon v. #3 Bobby Telford! Bobby was inches from the Midlands Title, but Coon was too much. Will Bobby be ready?

Oklahoma v. Oklahoma State
I hope we’ll have #7 Jarrod Patterson back in action, if not it’ll be all Eddie Klimara, the 17th ranked Cowboy at 125.

#5 Jon Morrison will look to remain undefeated against #7 Cody Brewer of Oklahoma.

We’ll have a dandy of a rematch if it’s anything like the first meeting between Anthony Collica and Nick Lester. Lester jumped out to an early lead but Collica stormed back.

#3 Kendric Maple and #7 Josh Kindig at 149! Kindig pulled the upset earlier this season. Can he do it again?

#1 v. #2 at 174! Andrew Howe v. Chris Perry. It was Howe last time around. Can he do it again?

#16 Ross Larson v. #17 Austin Marsden was a tight one last time around at 285.
