Pendleton Wraps Up Tournament In Colorado

 

UW assistant coach wins two matches Friday

 

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 31, 2014) University of Wyoming wrestling assistant coach Chris Pendleton finished up action in the Dave Schultz Memorial International wrestling tournament Friday.

 

The 16th annual international event, hosted in Sports Center I at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, began Thursday and continues through Sunday. 

 

Competing in the 97-kilogram freestyle weight class, Pendleton just missed out on placing in his division with two wins. He began the day including a pin in 1:33 in his first match of the day and a forfeit victory in the quarterfinals.

First round: Pendleton fall (1:33) Jeremy Latour (Canada)

Quarterfinals: Pendleton wins by forfeit over David Zabriskie (Lehigh Valley Athletic Club)

Semifinals: George Gogaev (Russia) tech. fall Pendleton, 12-1

Consolation semifinals: Michah Burak (Hawkeye Wrestling Club) wins by injury default over Pendleton
