Illinois hosts Nebraska for 'Great Escape' on Saturday

First 1,000 fans will receive free foam 'takedown' fingers

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- #13 Illinois will host #7 Nebraska at Huff Hall this Saturday, Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. for the sixth-annual 'Great Escape." The Illini look to improve on their 7-5 overall record and take the lead in the series against the Huskers, which is currently tied at 3-3.

Admission is free and the first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive free foam 'takedown' fingers. Fans can also enter a raffle to win a pair of tickets to the men's basketball game vs. Iowa that takes place immediately following the dual (6:30 p.m.) at the State Farm Center. In addition, the Illini starters will throw t-shirts to the crowd during the starting lineups, and t-shirts will be thrown to the crowd after every Illini win.

Fans are encouraged to wear all orange as part of an 'Orange-Out' to support the Illini and a free special-edition 'Great Escape' poster will be available for all fans at the marketing table and concession stand.

Head coach Jim Heffernan will be available to the media this Friday, Jan. 31 at Memorial Stadium immediately following John Groce's press conference at 12 p.m.
