We’ve just got duals this weekend, and a lot of them! Here are the matches you need to pay attention to!

Friday, January 24

Kent State v. Ohio
Two super talents will go at it at 149 pounds. #11 Tywan Claxton has had a great year so far. He’s the only guy to knock off current #1 Drake Houdashelt of Missouri. He’ll be challenged by Michael DePalma who has had some big wins this year including one against Eric Grajales.

A pair of big move wrestlers will go at it at 157 when Kent State’s 5th ranked Ian Miller will take on the unranked but dangerous Spartak Chino.

Illinois v. Penn State
Fret not, there’s a superdual breakdown on the way! However, I’ll give you a sneak peak of the matchups

#1 Jesse Delgado v. #3 Nico Megaludis
#11 Zane Richards v. #14 Jimmy Gulibon
UR Caleb Ervin v. #17 Andrew Alton
#19 Zach Brunson v. #9 Dylan Alton
#13 Jackson Morse v. #1 David Taylor
UR Tony Dallago v. #3 Matt Brown
UR Nikko Reyes v. #1 Ed Ruth
#9 Mario Gonzalez v. #6 Morgan McIntosh
UR Chris Lopez v. UR Jon Gingrich

Iowa State v. Oklahoma State

We’ll have a rematch at 125 pounds when #20 Eddie Klimara of Oklahoma State will look to continue his dominance over #18 Earl Hall of Iowa State.

It was a tale of two matches last year between #2 Tyler Caldwell and #11 Michael Moreno. Caldwell won 8-2 for the Cowboys in the dual, but Moreno won at Big 12’s 5-2. The rubber match goes down this weekend!

#10 Tanner Weatherman will have the daunting task of taking on #2 Chris Perry of Oklahoma State.

#16 Nolan Boyd of Oklahoma State will face Iowa States 20th ranked Boaz Beard.

Familiar opponents will scrap at 197 pounds (provided Rosholt wrestles). #12 Blake Rosholt will take on 2nd ranked Kyven Gadson of Iowa State. Gadson is 3-1 against Rosholt.

Lehigh v. Oregon State

#13 Mitch Minotti of Lehigh will be challenged by #15 Scott Sakaguchi of Oregon State

At 157 #8 Joey Napoli of Lehigh will be challenged by All American RJ Pena of Oregon State.

Taylor Meeks of Oregon State, currently ranked 8th will be challenged by Lehigh’s #19 John Bolich.

Michigan State v. Michigan

#8 Mike McClure of MSU will face #1 Adam Coon of Michigan. Good luck with that Mike!

Missouri v. Northern Iowa

Two really solid teams, but the ranked guys only match up in a few spots, unfortunately.

At 165 #7 Zach Toal of Missouri will take on #12 Cooper Moore of UNI. Despite the ranking disparity, best believe Cooper can win here.

Newly returned #5 Ryan Loder of UNI will be challenged by Missouri’s #13 John Eblen

Nebraska v. Ohio State

#14 Tim Lambert will take on #13 Nick Roberts. Roberts won the initial meeting between the two at Vegas.

#4 Jake Sueflohn of Nebraska will face #18 Ian Paddock of Ohio State.

Red hot Robert Kokesh will be challenged by #16 Mark Martin of Ohio State. Kokesh, the 4th ranked wrestler at 174, is coming off a dominant win over Mike Evans of Iowa.

We will have a CKLV rematch when #11 Tim Dudley gets to take on #9 Kenny Courts of Ohio State. Dudley won a wild on in the semi’s of Vegas.

Virginia v. Pittsburgh
#9 Joe Spisak of UVA will take on True Freshman Edgar Brigh who is ranked 18th in the country.

Mikey Racciato is looking to prove his pin over Josh Kindig was no fluke as he will take on #9 Gus Sako of UVA. Sako has been out for some time with injury. Here’s hoping he’s back for this one.

At 174 #17 Stephen Doty will look to get back on track against #7 Tyler Wilps of Pittsburgh. Wilps narrowly missed pulling a big upset over Chris Perry last week.

6th ranked Max Thommusseit will be challenged by #15 Jon Fausey of UVA.

Wisconsin v. Indiana
I’m so psyched for this one! #4 Taylor Walsh will take on #12 Isaac Jordan of Wisconsin. Don’t let the ranking disparity fool you. Jordan can win this match.

#7 Adam Chalfant of Indiana will be challenged by #9 Connor Medbery of Wisconsin. In two meetings Chalfant is yet to emerge victorious, losing 6-3 and 7-3.

Saturday, January 25

Minnesota v. Iowa
Wow. Huge one. Superdual is coming! Here’s the ranked matchups!

197 #16 Nathan Burak v. #1 Scott Schiller
285 #4 Bobby Telford v. #3 Tony Nelson

Not bad for a Saturday afternoon!

Brown v. Cornell
The Brown Bears are heading to Ithaca. The marquee match here will be at 184 pounds where #3 Gabe Dean of Cornell will take on #12 Ophir Bernstein of Brown.

Oklahoma v. Oregon State
At 149 pounds National Champ Kendric Maple (ranked 3rd) will take on #15 Scott Sakaguchi of Oregon State.
