Tony Ramos vs. AJ Schopp

The excerpt from above came moments after Tony Ramos beat then #3 ranked AJ Schopp in last season's dual against Edinboro. On paper, the victory shows a lopsided 9-0 major decision. Seems like Ramos really put it to Schopp, but Schopp defintely doesn't it see it that way (at 2:00). Just weeks later, Ramos would go on to make the NCAA finals, taking 2nd. Schopp would take 4th.

Well, these two are set to do battle again tonight at 7pm ET LIVE on Flowrestling!

I'm a HUGE fan of Schopp -love to watch him wrestle. But I don't think he has much of a chance against Ramos tonight. Tony "Double Rainbows" is perhaps the best position wrestler in the NCAA. He's an offensive force who, like he said (above), thrives on wearing people down over the course of a match. He's a physical speciman, and he possess the mentality of a hawk -he may be the most intense and intimidating wrestler in all of college wrestling. Schopp definitely has a lot of things he can throw at Tony Ramos so this could be a fun match to watch, but in the end, Ramos will overwhelm the scrappy Schopp.

AJ Schopp: He's a very very saavy wrestler who is comfortable winning from any situation he gets put into. On his feet, his go-to leg attack is the low single, but he has no problem setting up leg attacks from ties like the two-on-one. He's also an incredible scrambler -check his match at All Star 2012 if you don't believe me. He's good on bottom as he has little trouble getting away from his opponents, but he really REALLY thrives on top. He possesses one of the best tilts in the country, he has a great nearside cradle, he's tough with the legs in and he could basically start on his back and still find a way to work himself into stalemate -all while racking up riding time on top.

Tony Ramos: Like a protégé of the great Brent Metcalf, Tony Ramos is the king of making his opponents buckle under pressure. On his feet, he moves in one direction: forward! And at a relentless pace his opponents cannot keep up with. He usually manages to take his opponents down with a single leg or his brutal front headlock, but in the process of attacking, he'll force his opponents to get careless and he'll take advantage of their mistakes...with pinfalls -the Brands cowcatcher has become a favorite of his in recent years. On bottom, he cannot be held down. On top, he's a bruiser who would rather make his opponents give up and go to their backs than out-trick them with cunning technique.
