Brute Wrestler Of The Week: Andrew Howe
Brute Wrestler Of The Week: Andrew Howe
Andrew Howe Named Brute WOW
Christian Pyles
Each week throughout the season, Brute brings you the best performances of the weekend. College or high school, the guys who turned in streling results are highlighted here.
What a week! We were certainly rife with options, and if you think we didn't get it right with our final choice, we get it. When 3 #1's lose in a weekend, you've got some serious options!
That all being said, Andrew Howe, with his victory over then #1 Chris Perry on the stage at Bedlam has earned Howe Brute's Wrestler of the Week.
Earlier this year Howe knocked off returning National Finalist Matt Brown. Last night he delivered big time for the Sooners with a 4-2 win over Chris Perry of Oklahoma State.
Other Wrestler of the Week Nominees:
Josh Kindig-All Kindig did was knock off a National Champ and the then number 1 ranked guy in the country. Kindigs 4-3 comeback thriller over Kendric Maple would win many weeks, but this was a unique week!
Scott Schiller-Keeping the theme of knocking off top ranked wrestlers, Schiller broke through and beat then top ranked Taylor Meeks 3-1(this was foretold in the CP's What 2 Watch 4, but it's tacky to bring up such things).
Corey Keener-The CMU lightweight notched a big time win over UNC's Nathan Kraisser in an 8-7 thriller.
Elliot Riddick-Riddick took out two ranked opponents this weekend at Northeast Duals when he defeated Mike Ottinger of CMU and Stephen Doty of UVA.
Nick Dardanes-The Gopher 149 pounder continues to roll this year with a 4-3 win over Scott Sakaguchi of Oregon State.
Nick Moore-The Hawkeye notched a big win in the ISU-Iowa dual. He beat 3rd ranked Mike Moreno of Iowa State 3-1.
