At FLO, we always love to pump up our U.S. wrestlers. Of course, as Americans, we want "our guys" to kick butt. "Let's Go, Reece! Let's Go, Brent! Let's Go, Tervel!" We've come to know them, not just as wrestlers and athletes, but as people.
This year's World Championships presented a unique circumstance. FLO's Mark Bader was at the Olympic Training Center the day Jordan Burroughs broke his ankle. But, for many reasons, there was no way we were going to report about it.
So as World's approached the guys at FLO were all nervous and interested regarding Burroughs. We worried about his health. We worried about his psyche. We worried about his mobility. And we worried about his conditioning.
On the day before Burroughs was to wrestle, Nick, our marketing guru, wanted to do something to send Jordan good vibes. He made a facebook post encouraging fans to send some positive energy to The Champ, and the response was riveting.
We're not patting ourselves on the back here. We're applauding the fans for their support.
Great job guys and girls! Job well done.
Perhaps Jordan saw these comments. Perhaps he didn't. In the end, he proved all our anxiety was for naught.
