Rumors Center on Moore, Hughes Brothers
Willie Saylor, Editor
It's not the first time these sets of twins have been rumored to be in the mix for EWL jobs, and judging by their continued success, it won't be the last.
Scott and Josh Moore and John and Russ Hughes are the names that repeatedly come up when talking about the recent vacancies at Lock Haven and Bloomsburg.
John Stutzman, who led Bloomsburg for eight rather successful seasons (they won the conference dual title this year), left to be the lead skipper for his alma mater, Buffalo. Just days later, Lock Haven announced they bought out the remainder of then-Head Coach Robbie Waller's contract.
The Moore and Hughes brothers are all PA legends. Three of them are current college assistatnts; Josh Moore at Kent State, Scott Moore at Lock Haven, and John Hughes at Lehigh. Russ Hughes is the head coach at Benton, where he coached them to a state runner-up finish this year, while developing Zain Retherford, who is arguably the most accomplished high school wrestler in the country.
All four were Top 3 finishers at the NCAA tournament for the Nittany Lions. And they all had 140 wins as high schoolers in Pennsylvania.
