After a morning session of consolations and medal round bouts that saw Oklahoma State catch fire, the team race is razor thin and the scenarios are Hollywood-worthy.

Two-time defending team champions, Penn State came in to the day with a 20.5pt lead. And while they have half (5) their team in the finals, the Nittany Lions had no wrestlers alive in the consolations.

That’s where the Cowboys closed the gap. OSU wrestlers went 3-2 in the first session, and 4-1 in medal matches to cut Penn State’s deficit to just 3pts heading in to tonight’s finals: PSU 114.5 to OSU’s 111.5.

While Penn State has the edge in finalists, 5 to 2, all but one Nittany Lion (Ed Ruth) is an underdog. Cowboy finalists Jordan Oliver and Chris Perry are favorites.

The situation is this: with teams earning 4pts for a win in the finals, Oklahoma State needs to have one more champion than Penn State (assuming no bonus point wins for the Lions).

The finals kick off at 174lbs where OSU and PSU see each other head-to-head with #1-Chris Perry and #2-Matt Brown.

A win by Brown would clinch the team title. If Perry wins however, Penn State will need two wins out of its other four finalists.

The last bout of the night? Dake-Taylor.

This is gonna be wild.
