The boarder brawl between the two flagship schools of Pennsylvania and Ohio ended with a lopsided score. But the Buckeyes gave the two-time defending NCAA Champs a real scare.

After Nico Megaludis opened with a major decision of fellow All American, Nikko Triggas, Ohio State wrestled with a little more fire in their belly insider their home confines.

The Stieber Bros. both posted first period falls and then Cam Tessari upset Andrew Alton to put OSU out in front 15-4. 

Dylan Alton had to hold on in a semi-controverial last second call against Josh Demas at 157. Penn State wouldn't regain the lead again until Ed Ruth's pin of Cody Mangrum at 184.

125: #2 Nico Megaludis md.  #12 Nikko Triggas, 9-1
1st: Megaludis TD, Triggas E1
2nd: Triggas chose top. Megaludis E1. Nico close to scoring at end of period but time expired.
3rd: Megaludis chose down and escapes relatively quickly. Wrap arm to the left scores, followed by double bars for NF. Megludis rides the rest of the period out and earns the MD.


133:  #1 Logan Stieber wbf. #16 Jordan Conaway 2:41
1st: Stieber scored the first points :40 in. Then he went to work looking for bar arms. He got it once, then earned the fall with :19 left.


141: #2 Hunter Stieber wbf. Derek Reber, 1:21
1st: Hunter scores opening TD off an underhook. He then ran bars and got the fall.


149: #13 Cam Tessari def. #7 Andrew Alton, 3-1
1st: Alton came out with a sweet little duckunder, but Tessari front rolled to avoid the score.
2nd: Good action off the whistle. Tessari looked to have an escape and a takedown, but the officials ruled it a reversal. He then rode out the rest of the period.
3rd: Tessari rode with a leg in and then a bar and half for 1:30, before Alton escaped. Alton couldn't get the late takedown as Tessari finished off the upset.


157: #3 Dylan Alton dec. #16 Josh Demas, 4-3
1st: Not many scoring opportunities for either guy early. Alton got in deep around with about :30 left and converted on the edge. Alton rode out the rest of the way.
2nd: Alton escaped right away. Demas was in deep a couple of times late in the period, but Alton fought out of them.
3rd: Demas escaped and almost immediatley scored by snapping Alton, who escaped right away to regain the 4-3 lead. Demas almost scored again on a duck to a double that forced a stall call. At the buzzer, Demas had a cradle locked up but it wasn't ruled a takedown.


165: #2 David Taylor wbf. Mark Martin, 2:55
1st: Martin opened scoring off a low single. Taylor got out and returned the favor with his ankle pick. Taylor cut him loose and hit a double to Martin's back and the fall.


174: #6 Nick Heflin def. #7 Matt Brown, 3-1
1st: Heflin nearly scored on a nice drag. That was about all to write home about in the 1st.
2nd: Brown got right out from bottom. He took a deep double. Heflin was able to defend, but got dinged for stalling in the process.
3rd: Heflin got right out from bottom as well. Brown had a couple decent shots, but not real close to scoring. In the waning moments, Heflin hit a little go behind for the deciding score.


184: #1 Ed Ruth wbf. Cody Magrum, 1:51
1st: Ruth scored on a knee pull about :45 in. He then went to his patented crossface cradle for the fall.


197: #3 Quentin Wright md. Kenny Courts, 9-1
1st: Filling in for the injured Andrew Campolattano, Courts took a couple nice low shots out of the gates. Quentin ran through an underhook to grab a 2-0 lead.
2nd: An escape and another nicely converted shot put Wright up 5-0.
3rd: Another quick escape put Wright up by 6 early in the last frame. Q countered a Courts shot to go up by eight with a riding time point looming. Courts got the escape, but no more.


285:  Jimmy Lawson inj def. #11 Peter Capone, 2:50
1st: Capone took a low single and when Lawson lifted through through the crotch, Capone injured his shoulder. Lawson was awarded a TD and two nearfall. Capone attempted to continue, but the shoulder was an obvious issue and he was forced to default.
