One of the nation's most coveted prospects committed to Illinois on Thursday.
Brooks Black, who's career reseume rivals the best in high school history among big men, chose the Illini over Oklahoma, Maryland, and Iowa, among others.
The career heavyweight has won three Fargo stop signs, two Ironman, two Beast of the East, and two National Prep titles, along with crowns at Powerade and Cheesehead.
Black is the #9 overall Senior prospect and is ranked 7th on the Pound-for-Pound list.
The commitment from Brooks continues Illinois' rise and their contention in the Big Ten for years to come. Coaches Heffernan, Perry, and Hunter put together an outstanding class for 2012, and now have Black and #6-Isaiah Martinez in tow for 2013.
