COLUMBIA, Mo. After making history by sending all 10 of its starters to the NCAA Championships last season, the seventh-ranked Mizzou wrestling team will kick off the 2012-13 season with the annual Black & Gold scrimmage on Saturday (Nov. 3) inside the Hearnes Center at noon. The defending Big 12 Champions return nine of 10 NCAA qualifiers from a season ago and bring back All-American heavyweight Dom Bradley, who took an Olympic redshirt last season.

Just like last season, the meet will feature a pair of mats on the main floor of Hearnes as there are more than 20 anticipated duals that will be contested on Saturday. One mat will feature preliminary and exhibition matches while the other will feature finals matchups. Starting with the final matchups, the bouts look like this.

125 Pounds

Alan Waters vs. Boomer Boyd

133 Pounds

Cole Baumgartner or Matt Manley vs. Nathan McCormick

141 Pounds

Nicholas Hucke or Taylor Ronan vs. Eric Wilson or Trevor Jauch

149 Pounds

Drake Houdashelt or Brandon Rice vs. Blake Pepper or Lavion Mayes

157 Pounds

Trevor Wiest or Matthew Lemanowicz vs. Kyle Bradley

165 Pounds

Ty Prazma vs. Austin Lindsay

174 Pounds

Todd Porter vs. Cody Johnston

184 Pounds

Justin Heberlie or Johnny Eblen vs. Mike Larson

197 Pounds

The No.7 Missouri Tigers haven’t been ranked this high in the pre-season polls since 2008, when they were ranked No. 5. Preliminary matches will determine a few of the finals matchups, and the meet will also feature four exhibition matchups. The matches are sure to be competitive, with at least five final matches guaranteed to feature an NCAA Championship qualifier.
