Quentin Wright (PSU) is moving from 184 to 197. And it won't take long for us to see how he looks at his new weight and a formiddable opponent. He'll wrestle in the first competition weekend of the year at The NWCA All Star Classic, held at American University on November 3rd.
Wright began his career as a 174lber, claiming All American honors as a true freshman, before redshirting and bumping up to 184, where he reached two NCAA finals and won a title.
His opponent will be returning All American, Matt Wilps. The Pittsburgh Panther was an NCAA semifinalist last year and finished 4th. Wilps is a two-time Eastern Wrestling League Champion with a 104-34 career record.
For the sold-out All Star event, eight of the ten main card bouts have now been released. Penn State leads the participants with four individuals represented. Illinois is next with three.
