Wolfpack Pick Up Pair

The new coaching staff at North Carolina State have a rebuilding job to do. The Pat Popolizio-led crew, especially Frank Beasley, have always been known as excellent recruiters.

That proved true on Sunday as the Wolfpack snagged two top prospects for the Class of 2013.

Scott Delvecchio (132), who finished a perfect 44-0 last season with a state title, will come to Raleigh from South Plainfield, NJ. He’s currently ranked 9th in the country.

Joining him will be Missouri native, Chris Wilkes (138). From Witifield, MO, Wilkes’ breakout win last year came in the finals of the Red Schmitt Classic where he took out then-#1 Zane Richards. Wilkes was a State Champ last year and was 3rd in Fargo in 2011. He’s currently ranked as the #86 recruit on our SR Big Board.

The two new verbals join Chad Pyke (Woodward Academy, GA) as early commitments for NC State.
