ODU: Going Places

Wrestling in the Colonial Athletic Association, Old Dominion Head Coach, Steve Martin, led seven wrestlers to St. Louis in 2012, running his 7-year total to 35 NCAA Qualifiers. Breaking most of the relevant achievements in the university’s record book,  Martin has taken the Monarch to new heights. Now, it appears, he’ll take them to a new conference.

In May, Old Dominion announced they were leaving the CAA to join Conference USA, which is without a wrestling infrastructure.

Earlier in the day, Missouri issued a press release that they would be announcing their decision to change wrestling conferences on Wednesday. And while no such statement was officially issued by Old Dominion, sources tell Flowrestling that an announcement will be made at 11AM this morning.

While Missouri will compete in their new conference starting this season, Old Dominion will qualify through the CAA for one more year, and begin a new conference schedule starting in the 2013-14 season.
