Perhaps the best high school coaching career in the history of prep wrestling came to an abrupt end Saturday.

Jeff Buxton, the front man for the Blair Academy Buccaneers since 1982, announced that he resigned, effective immediately. Under Buxton’s reign, the Bucs won 11 National Team Titles, and 31 straight National Prep Titles, including both awards this past season.

The balance of his staff, which includes John Grey, Jared Platt, Charles Danhof and Paul Clavel, will remain in tact and continue to lead the program.

On behalf of Flowrestling, congratulations and thank you to Coach Buxton on an impeccable career and for the development and guidance to the infinite number of students and athletes you've effected both inside and outside the Blair campus. You'll be missed.
