There wasn’t too many scoring opportunities before they went to the clinch. With Khugaev on top, he scored a point for lifting Ebrahim.

Much to the frustration of Ebrahim, in the second period, Khagaev did a lot of blocking off. In the par terre, Ebrahim couldn’t get any hold established and was unable to turn or lift. A failed Ebrahim challenge gave Khagaev a second point, officially.

Betts Wins R1 With Style

Chas Betts (MN) got his Olympics off to a hot start in his 84kg first round bout. Betts took out Keitani Graham of Micronesia 6-0, 1-0. The win was highlighted by a first period “5” where Betts used a gut to a lift.
