guys, steve does what he does out of love for the sport and to promote it. as someone who has said some off-the-cuff things, i believe he meant no harm by it.
Eric - your right, my wording could have definitely been better, and I apologize to Jordon and anyone else that was offended by my comment. However, please believe my intention was not to discredit Jordon. I was simply trying to advocate for Moran, but the way I went about could have certainly been better.I don't know either kid personally, and having nothing against them. I invest 40-50 hour weeks to promote wrestling in Michigan throughout the season, and it's not exactly a financially lucrative job. Especially when you consider that I am also a full time student at Michigan State.Given that, I hope you can understand that I would never post anything with the intent of publicly disparaging a wrestler. I was in a hurry, and I made misjudgement which I am sorry for, so hopefully you and everyone at Westland John Glenn can accept my apology.
I believe Jordon Brandon should get some consideration for a ranking at this weight. Having beat Pestano & Rosborough (he beat him for 5th), he should be placed above them. Lost in OT to Medley and 3-2 to Wood in the semi's.I think had Steve Widzinski not attempted to discredit him by stating that he "made him look like a JV wrestler," then he would have earned himself a ranking. A lot changes over the course of weeks and months in this sport, and right NOW he beat two guys up there who are ranked. Brian Moran should be ranked higher but Jordon Brandon deserves to have his name on this list as well.In the future, it would be nice to see those affiliated with Michigan wrestling advocate to get as many of our guys ranked as possible, gaining national exposure, not belittle or discredit their achievements. What you said could have been worded differently with much less disrespect.
"I'm not sorry I wrote that you wrestle like a JV kid, I'm just sorry that you read what i wrote!" lolI hate lame-ass, cowardly apologies.
Sorry you took offense Jordon, nothing I said was directed at you, and my intent was not to embarrass you on a public forum. This comment board exists largely so that fans can offer input on the rankings. As someone who has their fair share of experience compiling and analyzing rankings data I can only imagine how hard it is for Willie to rank wresters from a national perspective. I was simply trying to provide him with my insight in an attempt to ensure that Brian Moran gets the recognition he deserves in what will likely be the last time he is featured in wrestling rankings at any level (Moran has committed to play football at GVSU).
-.- he made me look like a jv wrestler you sound stupid???? and i know morans . better then me but how long has moran been wrestling ? and how long have i. so shut up. i lost to sunday 3 times??? and the last 2 times were bs...? get your information right before. you try to embarrass. someone on a forum? -.-
I really think Moran deserves a big boost...here's my logic:At the DCC Invite in January he made Jordon Brandon look like a JV wrestler, pinning him in the 1st period.During the season Brandon lost 4 times to Brandon Sunday, who Moran also manhandled. At Flo Nats Jordon Brandon beat #14 Pestano & #19 Rosborrough, and lost in OT to #17 Medley, and 3-2 against #15 Wood indicating that he is a borderline top 20 kid.Considering the way Moran destroyed him, I think he is in line for a hefty jump from his current #20 spot.Just my 2 cents, keep up the great work Willie!
@Willie..New York State champ Rich Sisti...I PM'd you...there's a new Karelin in town, stay tuned...
Hey Willie,J'Den Cox won another state title as well... at 285!Four state titles at four different weights... kind of Dake'esque no?
Wow...good for ODonnell. He showed a lot of guts moving up to wrestle Haines. He will do well !
O'Donnell was quoted in his local paper that the move to 220 is permanent. He weighed in at 206 at ETR and is looking to be 215 by postseason.
If Willie drops Cox to #2 because his team doesn't travel and compete at major tournaments, he better go through all the weights and start dropping all lthe other ranked kids for the same reasonYEA LIKE ALL THE WRESTLERS FROM MICHIGAN
Willie,Have you heard anything about Austin Meyers (Campbell County KY) positive or negative? Curious how he might be considered as a "prospect" for the next level.

Willie, What does Snyder need to do be #1? Hasn't he won everything there is to win in HS wrestling? I know Cox and him have split 4 matches at Fargo the last two years, so that is a wash. However, when you win Flo Nationals, Super 32, Ironman, Beast of the East and Powerade, is there anything else?I am new to this forum, so if you have already explained then I apologize. Thanks!
Wille,Small correctingEvan Rossbourgh attends Painsville Riverside High School, in Painesville Ohio...
thanks for pointing that out. forgot to amend that one.that being said, i haven't yet received solid info on what weights they will be going this season.
what about kyler childers 2nd in freestyle at fargo and 5th greco and 1st at folkstyle nationals
jenco placed 3rd, yes. but he didn't beat anyone ranked. was ff'd to for 3rd. and had 2 losses to unranked kids at IHI.
If Haines would put a little more time in on the off season I think we could have ourselves a new no.1
I got 2nd at fargo this year. i would of went to super 32's but im in the playoffs for football. im definatly top sopre in 220

just a hunch, but my guess is that Cox is an extremely solid 220 - and any plan to cut to 197 would mean shedding a large amount of lean muscle to get there.....whereas Snyder looks to be a smaller and less lean 220 and could make the cut to 197 much easier.
Last time I talked to him, he plans on becoming a 4x MO State Champ at 4 different weight classes. We'll found out if he still plans on going that direction sometime in late Nov or early Dec. so basically unofficially, yes going the hwt route. Officially, have to wait until the season starts. So until he wrestles a match at hwt, he should continue to be #1 @ 220#.

Don't even go there with Cox being a no show. Cox doesn't run or avoid competition. If attending that tournament was possible for Cox, i'm sure he would've attended. You don't have to go to Super32 in order to be the best.
my comment was directed more about when they compete against eachother. I have beeen fortunate to watch all 4 matches live in Fargo. jmo
There is no way that Synder beats Cox in folkstyle. You guys obviously have never seen Cox wrestle folkstyle. His offense is insane in the neutral position. Synder to me seems defensive. Cox is all about scoring. Cox over Synder all day long.
coward you have know idea about wrestling! you want who you want in the rankings. if it was up to you no one else in the country is better than the wrestler you pick. so please be quiet and let the experts do their job. you cry to much have seen it on other post also. by the way i thought the Cox vs Snyder matches were possibly 2 of the best matches of the tournament and the rules had nothing to do with either.
How about Tolley from Indiana, finished 2nd and 5th in Fargo and is a 5 time AA for 2011-12. Lost to Nash in the finals in Greco.
how is correnti from nj not on there, he placed higher than both jenco and chakonis in states. and beat both of them. also took 6th at fargo?
