Congrats Mr. Williams, you've raised a fine young man. Your son is exceptionally quick on his feet and has explosive power. David strikes me as having great leadership ability. Good luck to you guys. Congrats on an exceptional high school career and well wishes for a great future!
Thanks for the comments on my son David Williams he had a great match with Johnny Sebastian in the final at states watch it for yourself. He wrestled Climmon's the Semi Finals At NHSCA and lost on a reversal with 13 seconds left which the score shown in brackets was incorrect. He also wrestled Aero Amo, Nick Zak ,Troy Murtha, Marcus Elkins. The other bracket only had Haught who made it to the finals. It’s been a great run I just wish he had been recognized for his achievements. He is choosing a school now. And will be announced soon. See yah in College.http://www.nj.com/hssports/blog/wrestling/index.ssf/2013/03/wrestling_state_championships_2013_johnny_sebastian_of_bergen_catholic_wins_182-pound_championship.html
just for a nice little chuckle-------Can anyone guess who KYLE SNYDERS last folkstyle loss was to?Sebastian in 8th grade ( obviously doesnt mean anything....but thought it was pretty funny since you all talked about not being able to beat top kids)
Exactly... He was in an average bracket. Does he even have any wins over highly ranked kids. He is a good wrestler, but thats about it. The guys on the P4P rankings consistantly beat ranked kids. You are way out of touch with your thinking. But I guess there is no law against that.... so think on my man !
Ness is pretty damn good. and Sebastian wrestled pretty damn well.final season rankings come out this week. then in 2 weeks, seniors will be removed.don't be surprised to see Sebastian #1 in the country at that time.
I didn't say anything, I wrote it and I believe it. FLO will have him in their p4p rankings next season; I'd bet on it.I'm not sure if Chance Marstellar is done growing yet so I would love to see them have another go at it. They were evenly matched last summer and it looks to me like Sebastian has gotten nothing but better as he focuses on wrestling. You're right about one thing: he didn't beat anyone in the top ten at FLO's for a good reason. He didn't have to wrestle any top tens?
Cut me a break... Sebastian isn a good wrestler, but Shouldnt even make the P4P rankings. Do you listen to what you say. Did you forget about Chance, Snyder,Pico,,,ect. He didnt beat anyone in the top ten in the Country at Flo Nationals. He was suppposed to win. Really ?
I'm from nyc and have zero rooting interest in Bergen Catholic or Johnny Sebastian. All I know is that kid is a horse. Up until recently, wrestling was a hobby for Sebastian. He's the quarterback of the top football program in his state. He'll be the top p4p wrestler in the country next season, mark my words...
I would say Williams out-wrestled Sebastian in the 1st period. After that it was mostly Johnny. He could have 3 more takedowns than he had. Williams kept playing the edge and did it nicely. But Johnny was close to scoring at least 3 more takedowns after Williams came out firing in the 1st. Williams did look good in the 1st, tho.
Ok First about this Sebastian kid.Great Performance ! He clearly can show he is very DOMINANT and HARD TO BEAT when he is on all cylinders. So what about his state finals match? He had arguably two take downs that were not called but he still WON the match because he is a WINNER. FYI the kid Williams did have a dominant win over Jared Haught so its not like he came out of no where. All my argument is that this kid (Sebastian) can be the top ranked kid at 182 next season especially if he isn't playing football. ( heard it on an interview ).
The kid Sebastian defeated in the NJ State finals (I believe he was from Hammonton) outwrestled Sebastian for most of the match.
At some point Aero Amo from Rapid City should enter these rankings. Took Climmons into OT at Va. Beach and finished 3rd in the tourney. Pinned Jacob Taylor at Disney last summer. So he didn't wrestle Fargo -- he's clearly got the credentials to be somewhere in your top 20.
Aero Amo from Rapid City, SD should be somewhere in your top 20. Lost a 9-7 OT match to Climmons at Sr. Nationals in Va. Beach and finished 3rd. Pinned Taylor from Bald Eagle last summer at Disney and blew through the Clash during the high school season without getting challenged.
It's about time Abounader got the respect he deserves...at least partially (should be #1). Too bad he wasn't healthy for Ironman this year. We'll see after Dapper Dan on Sunday. Should be a great 1 v. 2 match.
Check out this match State Final MatchHe has a win over Jared Haught.http://www.nj.com/hssports/blog/wrestling/index.ssf/2013/03/wrestling_state_championships_2013_johnny_sebastian_of_bergen_catholic_wins_182-pound_championship.html
Still no love for my boy Matt Seabold, Willie? He avenges his only loss of the season with a 5-0 win the in the semis. He is a two time greco all american and stikl cant get on the honorable mention list? He should be wrestling both syles this year and I think he will be participating at folkstyle nationals. I know the competition level hasnt been there but hes beaten everyone hes wrestled.
Preston Lehmann broke the North Dakota career pins record at the state tournament this past weekend on his way to claiming his third state championship. He came into the weekend Tied at 165 career pins and I believe he picked up 7 more along the way to finish out at 172 career pins. (3 in state duals, 4 in state individual tournament)
"not acording to Willy he put Black over Coon (HWT) despite the fact that Coon defeated Black head to head and has killed everyone since."Let's get all the facts out here. Coon won two "ball grabs" over Black in freestyle. If the other color ball comes out, Black wins. Black has a much more impressive resume than Coon. I do realize that this is out of Coon's control because of the Michigan regulations, but it is what it is. Willie is right on this one.Not saying that Coon wouldn't beat Black if they met up at the DD. They are probably so close, that anyone telling you one way or the other definitely is out of their mind. Unfortunately, that won't happen. Sr. Nationals would be nice, lol.
bad round or not, wrestling is a sport of one winner and one loser, a head to head win over someone should put that person ahead of the othernot acording to Willy he put Black over Coon (HWT) despite the fact that Coon defeated Black head to head and has killed everyone since.
Movahedi...i think a lot of that kid. but to get in you need wins not close losses. im keeping an eye on him for sure.
I my opinion Sohrab Movahedi from California should fufill that 20th ranking after his performance against #1 ranked Morris and #18 ranked Newman. At the Zinkin Classic Sohrab went overtime with Newman and lost due to a poor call. In overtime the ref stopped the match because Sohrab grabbed Newman's singlet while he was finishing a double to win the match. Also at Doc B he took 3rd and beat Kyle Pope from Bakersfield who was ranked #1 in state at the time.
Climmons took 2nd at Fargo and Lehman did not place. I watched that match and Climmons beat him 6-0 first period then got caught. Lehman is strong I do not think anyone wants to get caught under him. From what I remember that was a bad round for GA kids on three mats
from the article linked below: "The Cougars were gifted six points -- as good as a pin -- at 182 pounds before the finals even began when Adrian Salas won by default over Wyoming Seminary's nation top-ranked Eric Morris. The Harvard-bound 27-0 senior suffered a concussion, yet finished, in a 1-0 semifinal win over Granada Hills' Sohrab Movahedi on Saturday morning."Read more here: http://www.fresnobee.com/2013/01/05/3123097/clovis-battles-for-doc-wrestling.html#storylink=cpy
Smart move by climmons...Pix is a beast....gotta protect those rankings...Possible other dodges at Clash...just sayin....
PRETTY WEAK WEIGHT, IM NOT IMPRESSED BY MORRIS EITHER.I SAW HIM AT IRONMAN. KID HAS GONE UP WAY TOO MANY WEIGHTS (LOOKS OVERWEIGHT) IN ORDER TO AVOID ANY REAL STUDS AFTER GETTING DOMINATED BY MCCAULEY AT CHEESEHEAD AS A SOPHMORE
ness beat a guy higher than him (deslauriers) and lost to one lower than him (haught). he has losses to haught and pixley.i think he's right where he should be
No movement for 13# Ness places 4th super 32 beats then #3 ranked DesLauriers loses semis to Toal in OT,and not mention only junior or underclassman to place at 170, 182, and 195 combined.
Haught came in 3rd at Super 32 at 182lb. Dave Williams beat Haught and NHSCA. Can the kid get in the rankings.
Alex Bambic will be 182 this year, he's already on his way down. Made 85K last year for Fila Junior easily, he is not going to be at Vegas, no preseason tourneys for us this year, other things are taking priority.
Alex Bambic will be 182 this year, he's already on his way down. Made 85K last year for Fila Junior easily, he registered for Vegas at that weight only because he's not planning on being there that fast.
krohn went bananas at Fargo and took 3rd. but i'll re-evaluate ellingwoods case for this week.
Krohn just placed 3rd in a monster bracket ahead of some serious studs. it justifies the jump imo.
pixley did look good.just a note, Climmons will move up to 3. i totally spaced it on the top half here. sorry. crazy week.
that's my fault. he should have dropped and will in the next update. my apologies.
