Whitford won it again as Junior CHAMP and guess what it is at his real weight. He wrestled one two to three weights above his normal weight to make his team that much better so a stud or two didn't sit the bench. Whitford is for sure a top 3 P4P and he is the best 132, 138, 145 in the country. it doesn't matter which weight he wrestles in. He is the best of the best in all 3 of them. As

We all know 145 is the deepest weight and ultimately some really rankable kids fall out of the top 20 just by math. Miller lost to one unranked kid unless you're counting Heilmann as unranked. Millers other loss was to Janis and while That's a bad loss he's not exactly a scrub (Miller majored him last time they wrestled btw). Pags has to go in, I get it. My contention is that Miller & Heilmann were underranked to begin with and they are both better than 14-20 above. If you watched the NJ states (I'm sure you've seen the matches) you'd come to the conclusion if you threw Clagon (#5) Heilmann & Miller in a room 5 times and had them wrestle you'd get a different result every time. They are that close. So if you want to hammer Miller for a bad loss why is Heilmann out? I watched Vassar at the Beast and he's outstanding but Heilmann & Miller would beat him convincingly IMO. Milonas & Clark bot beat him pretty easily and Miller did the same to those two as you know. Heilmann beat Miller 2 out of 3 and only lost to Clagon in a contoversial match (not to me though). Well in a few weeks it won't matter anyhow since we move on!

Pags and Ream won titles beating nationally ranked kids this week. Pags beat several. Ream also has a recent win of Lapaglia.
the new rankings shouldn't be shocking by any stretch of the imagination.
yes Miller (who i love btw) had an outstanding BOE. but he lost to two unranked kids after that.
Limmex is cut and dry. he didn't wrestle a match all year at 125/126.
Rodriguez-Spencer needs more consistency and to work his way up. He's ben ranked before. but had a bad fargo.

No seniors at 145 went to Flo. I can see why Pags get in as he had a great tournament. Of course if Baldwin doesn't get hurt I doubt he makes finals. At any rate I get it. Heilmann & Miller would beat 14-20. What is Vassar doing at 14? He finished #4 at the Beast and Miller handled both the kids that handled Vassar. I usually don't accuse Willie of being a PA homer but...............

I can understand why you moved Pags in top 20 after Flo but Heilmann & Miller are both better than 14-20. Vasser at #14, really? He finished #4 at the Beast as Miller beat both the kids that beat him rather easily. U usually don't consider you to be a PA homer Willie but............

no miller or heilman, spencer rodriguez is ranked far too low, Limmex won Flonationals which at least to me seems like you hold it in extremely high esteem.

Miller handled Milonas 12-6 in the beast of the east, then proceeded to near side cradle Jack Clark for back points in the finals. No excuse for him to not be here. Milonas is your #10 guy and Clark is your #13.
Heilmann did have a 7-2 loss early in the season to Miller, but avenged that loss not once but twice, once in a dual meet and once in the state semis. Heilmann then proceeded to lose to bj clagon by a point in what was an EXTREMELY controversial match. BJ is ranked #5 on your list, in case you didnt know.
Spencer Rodriguez, regardless if he is a hot and cold wrestler, beat your what is it, #4 guy? Even if he doesnt jump Bannister he should at least be top 10.
And finally Limmex, the kid wrestled 130 all year because of his states different weights. He certified under 126, made the weight, and then went and won your tournament which you hold in VERY high esteem. The fact that he doesnt make it in at 126 is ridiculous.
You have good reasoning for some kids being in certain spots, but in other areas I believe you are partial and your reasoning is flawed. I'm not even going to go into the ashnault not being top 10 P4P because theres too much to argue and its too controversial of a topic. But this is your site and only you decide the rankings, so its bound to be faulty.

Whitford should have never been taken out of the #1 spot. He is better than BrillWhitford is a national champ in Greco, folk and freestyle. Not one year but year after year after year. Whitford tech falled in the state finals with out a offensive point scored on him. Whitford is a 4 time state champ, 2 illinois and 2 Michigan. Whitford never lost a highschool match in either state. His only ever losses were up two weights, sick and injured and he shouldn't have been even wrestling that week. Brill has never beat Whitford so how do you take a national champ in every style and move him down from #1 to #2 without a loss sense then. I just dont understand. Whitford is #1 in all of the other web sites. And then you put Coon from #1 to #2 and Coon beat (Black) twice. Coon is also a national champ in every style year after year. And Black just loss again at the Dan Drapper. Whitford dominated at that tournament. Now Whitford and Coon will both be National senior champs and if you dont put them back on top it is obvious you have no clue what you are doing. Please prove me wrong that Whitford and Coon are not the best of the BEST. Coon pinned his way through the state tournament in 1 minute per wrestler. I am in shock that you would take the guys that have proven themselves, year after year and you take them out of the #1 spot that they earned and did nothing to have that taken from them. FIX your mistake. And put them in the top 10 for P4P.

Was Ben Whitford dominant enough over Racciato to move past Brill. I would have to say yeah, he looked crazy good. Racciato was so far ahead of everyone else at the PA state tournament...

145 is stacked plain and simple. I feel a little sorry for the person(s) who's charged with the task of fixing these rankings. The amount of politicking and back channeling must drive you mad.

If Ben Whitford and Bryce Brill wrestled folkstyle 10 times in a row they'd probably go 5 and 5.
Out of all these wrestlers whom I'm familiar with my best guess would be that BJ Clagon or Mikey Racciato will have the best college careers. Clagon had the best balance I've ever seen and he seems to have endless power.

Are you Lavallee haters? When wrestling with a broken wrist you throw him out of the rankings then when he's healthy and beats the 2013 Ca. State Champion in Idaho he still gets ranked below them. WOW.

meluvwrestling I'm not sure what resume you are looking at but Ream is 3-0 in HS vs Lapaglia. He won by Fall at the Park Hill FS Duals 2 years back, He Won by Dec at Southern Plains Last Year and Just beat him in the Semi Finals of the MO State Tournament.
I'm not going to take anything away from Lapaglia because he is a very good wrestler but what's your issue abour Ream & Leeth?

Jason Bourne, I don't for the life of me figure out how you read my post and think that i have an issue with Ream or Leeth. I have watched all 3 wrestlers for years and have seen all 3 represent MO with the up most respect. Now let me comment on what my opinion and facts regarding Lapaglia. When I say resume, i'm not just talking about head to head competition. If you would've read Willie's comments 2 weeks ago after Ream won state, he even referenced Ream had defeated Lapaglia at state but Lapaglia has the better resume. Resume includes, Fargo, National events, state championships, national duals and etc. Obviously the last 365 days is what matters.

Just for the record, on the MO board, there is a section regarding state champs competing against other class state champs. i choose Ream over Leeth because I like how Ream wrestle fundamentally sound, even though Leeth has the last h2h. So once again, I have zero issue with any of the 3 boys, don't read so much into a post.

Deepest Weight Class in the country, it's very tough to leave some of these kids out of the rankings.

I don't know is you're talking this into account yet, but Clayton Ream beat Lapaglia 4-0 in the semi's at MSHSAA Class 4 state and went on to win the state title.

a similar situation happened at 170 where griego beat santos for the first time in about 3 tries.

Grant is an excellent wrestler...no doubt...S32...Darick competed at 138 which was considered the deepest wt. class...They both wrestled at 145 at The Clash...both undefeated...Darick selected to all tourney team...must have impressed someone...I just don't believe that 1 victory in 7 tries justifies the flip in rankings...14% success rate...which guy you want on your team? If u want to go off the page and talk...I will discuss some other things...don't want to step on any toes...Thanks again...

here's my train of thought....

leeth and lapaglia, resume wise, are about equal. i had lapaglia ahead till leeth won.
i understand that lapaglia has quite a h-t-h edge, but leeth has the big titles, and the last h-t-h.
as far as 'odd' in my rankings, gimme a specific and i'll explain. love talking rankings.

Willie...I used that example because it appears you flipped the rankings based on ONE match...watch the stampede match and the Blue springs vs.Kearney dual..also...rÃ©sumÃ© of head to head should count...Lapaglia 6-1 vs. Leeth in career matches..As for other rankings...of course you could care less...I've seen some pretty odd things in your rankings too...nothing personal though...appreciate your time and work you do...Thanks
