It appears that a rematch of the 2011 60kg world championship gold medal match took place at the Grand Prix in Germany. Last year it was Besik Kudhukov of Russia coming ahead and claiming his third straight world title. Besik Kudhukov wrestled against Franklin Gomez of Puerto Rico, formerly of Michigan State and currently training at the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club.

Franklin Gomez turned the tides this time in the finals at the Grand Prix handing Kudhukov his first loss in years. This really shakes things up in this weight class as we approach the Olympic Games in London and was actually predicted by US Olympian Coleman Scott. After the Olympic Trials match in Times Square someone asked Coleman Scott about Besik Kudhukov and Scott responded that Kudhukov was going to get beat. And he did.

Do you think Kudhkov will still claim gold at the Olympics, how do you think Gomez and Scott will do in London?
